[After these events played out, the current flooding is the least of Ven's worries right now.

Anyone in the Dressing Room's main area might be momentarily blinded by a flash of bright light. And when it clears, well... only one word can really describe the momentousness of what's just occurred.

Trouble. Big, big Trouble.]

[Argh. As if today wasn't bad enough - Xehanort's just spent the last ages trying to get anything that could be water-damaged somewhere safe, running into that kind of situation...

Huh. As little as he knows of things past, he knows this is definite trouble.]

[ Double voice. Creepy, ain't it?

"Ven" here is standing on a mattress that just so happened to float by. He is doing so with a rather fabulous Keyblade in his hand. ]

[Very. And he's got a damn good guess what that keyblade is, and what it means. Just trying to keep things under control, use what leverage he might have-]

Interesting to see you here. Would you prefer 'Ven' or 'Vanitas'?

Ventus is no more. I've taken over his heart.

[ He shakes his head. ]

It was only a matter of time.

[But you're still defensive about his name, he notes - but says nothing, just giving a nod.]

I see. A matter of time. And you're ready to do what you're here for? What your weapon is here for?

It might not be the same as a real Keyblade war, but I'm sure I can make do with what I've got.

[He just nods. Takes a few steps the best he can.]

You're willing to try the best you can, anyway, I see.

You catch on fast.

[A faint smile.] Well, I'd hope I would by now, given the circumstances.

[Riku's been doing pretty well just to keep from getting washed away anywhere, but he hardly expected to come across anything worse. Never the less, he's staring cautiously after shielding his eyes from the light.]

This world is too peaceful. Think of this as a...catalyst for something greater.

[ When the light fades, he should find Ventus...and a rather large Keyblade in his hand. ]

[That is one huge keyblade- not like one he's ever seen. Which just makes this whole thing fishier. If there's any kind of abundance of darkness, he'll be aware of that as soon as he stops staring.]

...Ven?

[ He says nothing. Instead, he slowly turns towards Riku, face downcast. ]

[He takes a couple more steps forward, repeating himself.]

Ven? You okay?

[ ... Does this creepy look seem okay to you? ]

[Oh hell no. Yellow eyes are never ever a good thing. And he's taking a step back again.]

...Who are you?

What Ventus should have been all along.

[ SLASH. Beware the rather sharp blade of the χ-blade, bub. ]

[Whoa, alright, dodging backwards then.]

And who would that be?

His better half. One that isn't afraid of his destiny.

[ He raises the χ-blade. ]

Not what I'm asking. Do you have a name?

Vanitas.

So you're his "better half", huh? Seems like the worse half to me.

Ventus was weak. He refused to embrace his destiny and forge the χ-blade.

[ Yes, χ-blade is pronounced an awful lot like "Keyblade". ]

...the "keyblade"?

[What in the worlds are you talking about.]
