[ In a relatively silent hall of the dressing room, the sudden sound of a wall splitting seems to come from nowhere. Cracks weave across the surface like a spider's web, making the wall tremble and shake. Dark sand leaks from the narrow openings, a small precursor for what comes next -- part of the wall crumbles away and a small mountain of sand spills from it, carrying in a young woman with silver hair.

She's barefoot, dressed in plain black robes, and appears to be unconscious as she comes to a stop splayed across the floor. Half-buried in sand though she still is, it's a familiar face she brings back. ]

[Riku stares at him as a smile spreads across her face, snorting in disbelief.]

I'm shocked.

Me too!

*he laughs and spins you around X3*

Are you feeling alright?

[She yelps a bit at the spinning, quietly really, and offers a soft smile at the question.]

I'm glad to be back.

[Her tone is pretty solemn, but it's true.]

... are you sure? I mean, that you're feeling alright? I have bandaids.

*they have Hello Kitty on them*

[That smile twitches a bit wider.]

I'm fine. No injuries.

[Not even a new scar. And she gestures down at herself to prove it.]

Okay.

*... he wants more hugs if she's willing*

[She is totally willing. Past that. Come on, it's Sora.]

*he's happy enough to burst, because he loves hugs and adores Riku*

After you get settled in, I'll make you breakfast in bed or something.

[So long as he doesn't spontaneously explode, Riku sees nothing wrong with this. She's pretty much starved for human contact, herself, and Sora-kind is really the best kind. And she missed him. That even gets a small laugh.]

Sounds good to me.

*no he won't explode just yet, it's just that... you're a Riku and his Heart echoes with you -- it's not even necessarily a conscious need, but a need nonetheless*

And we can have a beach bonfire. It'll finally be cool enough for one, now that summer's pulling up its stage.

[Riku could understand that perfectly. Can, in fact, and is often quite aware of it. That makes her pause, expression just a little confused, but she's trying to hide it.]

A bonfire, huh?

Yeah! On the Islands, me and Riku and Namine and Ri and Kairi and Demyx and Roxas and Axel would always have bonfires towards the end of the summer, once all of the tourists went home. We'd bring food and games and Demyx would play guitar and Axel would... play with fire, and Ri would pelt me and Riku with things to get us to stop kissing. It'll be so much fun!

*oh here he goes getting excited*

[Her eyebrows rise at that, and she smiles a bit, but it doesn't quite reach her eyes.]

Sounds nice.

*his eyebrows furrow and he pouts a little*

... what's wrong? Your eyes are sad.

[Noooo, don't pout. She shakes her head, looking surprised.]

Nothing's wrong. I'm not sad.

But... your eyes...

*you can't lie to Sora*

[Okay, fine, she won't. But she doesn't have to tell him, either. She shakes her head, clearing the bangs out of her eyes and leans forward to lean her head against his.]

I'm fine. I just need to settle.

Take as long as you need. We're all here for you. We always will be. Our hearts are connected.

*he turns his head to the side a little and kisses her temple*

[Watch, you're going to make her cry, talking like that.]

... Thanks, Sora.

*he... wouldn't really flail, he would understand -- it seems like you've been through a lot while you were gone*

That's what Soras are here for. Of course, I hope I'm not like every Sora out there.

[Her mental state has suffered dearly, but at least it's not showing much ~~yet~~. Riku rolls her eyes, giving him one nice big squeezing hug.]

Nah. There's no other Sora I'd rather see right now.

*he hopes you'll tell him about it someday? he wishes he could protect his friends, especially you and a couple others, from every bad thing out there, but he's been through enough to know that these things can make you stronger, and you're one of the strongest people out there though you try to be strong for far too long; oh and he really likes hugs*

Be careful, you'll inflate my ego to catastrophic proportions.

*... thinks about that and laughs, teasing*

Nah, go ahead, it's fine.

[She really likes hugs too, especially right now, when she's been alone for so long. Though admittedly not as long as she's actually been gone! But still. She probably will talk about it, but not right now. Not until she's had time to settle in again.

For now she'll just be amused.]

I don't know if I want to be responsible for another catastrophe in this place.

*that makes his smile fall just a little and he squeezes you protectively while he thinks for a moment*

You know, everything happens for a reason. Sometimes... even if it's hard to accept, we've gotta be a catalyst for change, whether the change is around us or inside of us. It may be hard to see why things happened for some time.

*he tips your chin up*

When I saw you, I didn't think of what had happened before you... left. I thought about... how much I've missed you, and how I took your company for granted.

[Soras naturally strike a chord in Riku - it's just how the worlds work - and this one especially does after having known him for so long in a place like this. She's never taken the time to get close to other Soras with her own not being present, specifically avoided it, in fact, which is why what he has to say matters to her and affects her so deeply. She doesn't know what she should say, but the automatic responses are taking over and she realizes just a little too late that her eyes are watering. Riku scrunches her face up in surprise and quickly looks down to hide her embarrassment, pressing the heel of her palm against her eye as if that would prevent the tears from spilling out.]
