[A wooden chest makes a terrible racket as it hits the floor. Its clatter echoes down the long hallway its fallen into before dying out, then silence. It's as if the crash never happened, and the chest sits innocently at the corner of two conjoining hallways. If anyone is attentive enough to hear it, the chest begins to make noise again, its metal hinges rattling as if the chest has come back to life and its wooden lungs are gasping for air. There's another moment of rest before the thud of something knocking up against the top of the chest breaks the quiet. The voice of an adolescent girl calls out from within it.]
Hell-llooo!
Hell-llooo!

Yeah, here comes captain derp, to the rescue, valiantly carrying his Keyblade in hand to unlock it.]

Yuffie, is that you? Go get Cid... or Leon, if he's back! I think this chest is stuck!
no subject
Don't worry, though. I'll get you outta there!
[And now, to unlock it with his weapon!]
no subject
[Hopefully he has more sense than to take a chainsaw to it.]
no subject
[Well, the Keyblade was supposed to be a chainsaw originally--
Anyway, the Keyblade's power should unlock it with ease, allowing her to make her escape.]

Texas Chainsaw Massacre, anyone? The chest pops open, revealing a girl who's gotten herself tangled up in her own limbs from all her squirming. She might look familiar, but unlike most Aeriths who appear here, she's just sixteen. She pulls her ankle out from under her bottom and hangs her leg over the side of the chest while trying to unknot the rest of herself.]
Thank you... I'm Aerith.
[She lifts her face to get a good look at the boy who saved her and is surprised to see what he's holding onto, giving a startled little jump and losing the sandal from the foot hanging out of the chest in the process.]
The key!

I didn't think we'd have the chance to see each other again. Thank you for saving me.

Dilan extended his hand to help her out. ] A pleasure as always, Aerith. You seem... different. [ Being the word for the moment. ]

That's because you haven't seen me since I was thirteen! But you know, you haven't changed a bit, from the look of it.

[He gives a sheepish little smile here and lowers the Keyblade to his side.]
Oh, you mean my Keyblade?
no subject
Who's there?
no subject
Yes, that weapon. My friends and I have been trying to learn everything we can about it...
[Crouching down and putting her sandal back on, Aerith peeks back up at the boy curiously.]
Ven, is it true? Can the Keyblade really conquer the Darkness?
no subject
[Pause.]
What's your name? Can you help me?

[She's shoving up against the top of the chest, from the sound of it, but it doesn't take long for her to confirm it's still not budging.]
no subject
How d'you get it open?
no subject
Normally you'd be able to just pull the lid up, but if it's really locked, you'll need to find the key to get it open. It should be a pretty big one. Do you see one out there?
no subject
Well, the Keyblade isn't really meant for that purpose. It's just meant to protect the worlds. I mean, if conquering the darkness is what it takes to do that, then sure, but Keyblades can be used to hurt people, too.
It really depends on how you use it, and whoever's wielding it, if that makes sense.

[would the key even have traveled with her?]
