[Let it never be said that Sora doesn't know what's going on with his family, and especially his Ri. He may not see the blood, but being of pure Light he feels the Darkness more acutely than anyone ever could. Not only that, but the baby responds to it as well which explains why Sora's keeping his distance from Ri for the moment (at least until he's under some semblance of control). After losing Kira (temporarily) this time last year, Sora's staying incredibly attuned to his body and keeping himself safe. He may be a rawr super bad-ass warrior and stuff, but he'd take the pain himself before putting anyone else in danger.

It doesn't get too much safer than the nursery, the new room in the small complex of rooms for this big family which has been freshly painted a dusky lavender color, and is seated in the cushy chair with his legs tucked under him. He's trying to work himself up to putting together the crib that's still in pieces, but the first mistake was sitting down and he can't help zoning out and staring at the single framed picture on the wall over the chest of drawers -- a black and white transparent ultrasound. ... you two already have fingernails, and I still need to put your bed together. Slow down, will ya?

Well that's because me, Daddy and Sorabug worked on it together. We didn't know you were going to be a girl, though. I wonder if you'll have sisters or brothers?

So far I've gotten the chest of drawers and changing table set up. I need to put this crib together, but I haven't gotten myself motivated yet. Your Mama's so old~

Oh, well in that case I'm glad I got this one (http://www.petittresor.com/baby-furniture-bermuda-built-to-grow-crib/baby-boutique-catalog.aspx?product=116). It's big enough that they'll be able to both sleep in it when they're old enough for big kid beds! And I was thinking of themes, too. Bunnies would be cute, but Rikka had bunnies. Maybe just a pattern? Or... stars.

Sometimes the first conclusion you come to isn't always the best one. Sometimes you have to think a little more about the situation.

Oh... they're different screws, for different sides. Some go on the side, that's why they're flat.

I... not always. Sometimes, trusting your instincts can cause you a lot of unnecessary pain. Other times, it's good. The trouble is deciding when to trust your instincts and when to think things through. It's the same in combat, you know. Magic.

Instincts are in place so that humans can have basic survival instincts. I mean, for example, if I was hungry. Like really hungry. I might see Auntie Riku-pi with a pizza, and attack her for it to alleviate my hunger. I wouldn't care about her needs, just mine. But we live in a more structured society... if you can call it that. And sometimes, our instincts aren't what's right for us.
