[Let it never be said that Sora doesn't know what's going on with his family, and especially his Ri. He may not see the blood, but being of pure Light he feels the Darkness more acutely than anyone ever could. Not only that, but the baby responds to it as well which explains why Sora's keeping his distance from Ri for the moment (at least until he's under some semblance of control). After losing Kira (temporarily) this time last year, Sora's staying incredibly attuned to his body and keeping himself safe. He may be a rawr super bad-ass warrior and stuff, but he'd take the pain himself before putting anyone else in danger.

It doesn't get too much safer than the nursery, the new room in the small complex of rooms for this big family which has been freshly painted a dusky lavender color, and is seated in the cushy chair with his legs tucked under him. He's trying to work himself up to putting together the crib that's still in pieces, but the first mistake was sitting down and he can't help zoning out and staring at the single framed picture on the wall over the chest of drawers -- a black and white transparent ultrasound.
