[Riku is in the beach room, staring out at the water with a pensive expression. One hand is fisted in the bottom of his shirt; he's considering taking it off, but he's not sure he's ready to show off the scars he acquired while he was gone. It wasn't that he'd gotten them in a particularly bad way, he was just sort of ashamed that he got them in the first place. They're all from battle and nothing else, at least.]

[Here's a familiar face walking in, though he doesn't immediately register Riku as the one he's met already. He's just watching the water for now.]

[Well, the ears and tail will probably give him away when Roxas cares to look. As it is, he just stills for a moment when he hears Roxas enter, not wanting to say anything just yet.]

[He's not paying much attention to anything else for a while. When he does look over and realized who it is, he gives a short wave.]

[Riku swallows quietly and raises a hand slightly in hello. He's not sure what to say, unfortunately.]

[Better think of something, because he's coming over.]

Hey.

[He glances away first, then sends Roxas a faint smile.]

Hey.

How are you?

[You look a little glum, but you're a Riku.]

Been better.

[He pauses, glancing back out at the water.]

Been worse. Can't really complain.

Vague, as I'd expect from a Riku.

If you expected it, you shouldn't complain.

Who's complaining?

Not you, I guess.

Mm. Not about you, anyway.

[Back to staring at the ocean.]

[They are so talkative. But that makes him glance over again.]

Complaining about something else, then?

Complaining isn't the right word.

[He's not sure what the correct word is though.]

Then what is?

[He's curious, of course.]

I don't know. Maybe I'm just mulling over things. That sounds more accurate.

"Things"?

[Sorry if he's being nosy, Roxas, but... well.]

[He sighs. He was certainly not expecting a Riku to care that much.]

Namine... helped fix some of my memories.

Only some?

[It's hard to keep the disappointment from his voice.]

She said some of them were just out of her reach. I guess this place is keeping some things to itself.

[He sighs heavier this time.]

I almost wish I hadn't remembered some things.

[Well, at least he can be sure Roxas didn't remember him, considering he's talking to him...]

That bad, huh.

It changed some things between me and a friend of mine... I think maybe it would have been better if we could have just left it in the past. Makes things awkward, you know?

But it wasn't left in the past. You just couldn't remember it. I think there's a difference there.

...Maybe. What's done is in the past though. It doesn't matter so much now... or at least it shouldn't.
