[there is a ghost in the hallway, and he's trying to pick up the book that is lying on the floor. his hands keeps going through it, and so he looks mighty annoyed. wanna help?]

[Well that's something you don't see every day. Picks up that book, holding it out.]

[smiles in relief and then, recognition.]

Riku! Hi.

[he sounds solid enough, but as the hug he's now giving you proves, he is untouchable.]

[He frowns at that, mostly because he didn't recognize Roxas at first.]

...Hey. Long time no see, huh?

Yeah. I've been... sort of at home.

[now would you mind carrying that book to the library for him?]

"Sort of" at home?

[Gladly. You might have to lead the way so he knows where you're off to though.]

[and off he walks. he's trying to tidy up his room, a little... which is rather difficult.]

I was there but the world wasn't.

...What happened to it?

[He's thinking of some pretty heavy duty apocalyptic events here.]

I have no idea... it was just dark.

Strange... When did you wind up back here?

Some days ago. I had to really concentrate to get back.

[here's the shelf.]

[Sticks the book back where it belongs.]

But now you're... not solid?

Oh, no, that happened a long time ago.

[Frowns.]

How long ago?

A few hours after returning. D-depending on when you consider a body to be fully consumed.

...What do you mean?

The darkness ate me.

[and it was really irritating, too.]

[Just kind of. stares at him.]

So then... your world got consumed by darkness?

Either that or I... don't have a place there anymore. I dunno.

[He stays quiet for a while, thinking.]

So how do we fix you? It's not really a normal reaction to begin with. You should have been turned into a heartless.

Well, I... think this has something to do with, like... my heart. Or. I'm not sure why this happened. I thought I would just die.

Hmm. I'll see if I can find anything in the library next time I'm researching.

Thanks. Don't worry too much, though. It's not all bad.

What could be good about it?

I can walk through walls. I don't have to eat. And... since this is what escaped from the darkness, I assume I am... pretty much invincible.

[but then again he can't eat. or touch. or move things.]

[He looks a little unsettled by that.]

Don't assume too much. That may have just been a fluke.

...I know it feels weird. That this is all I am right now. But this form no more fragile than a body.

[he hopes.]

I'd still like to help as much as I can.

I'll learn to manipulate items better. I mean, I managed to carry that book into the hallway, but then I got distracted.

[He's a bit startled by the sensation, but not too much.]

I met someone else who was sort of... ghost like before. For him it just takes some practice concentrating.

I knew I was on the right track. I can do this, too.

[closes his eyes and focuses. he gradually looks more and more tangible, less and les see-through. but then he snaps back to his 'normal', misty look.]

Ph-phew.

[He looks impressed, at least.]

Don't push it. Take it a bit at a time.

[he even looks a little more translucent now, just from the effort.]

I'm t-trying to learn to draw energy from the air... it's so tiring.

Like I said, a little at a time. You can't master something like that overnight.

Right. I'm not very patient, am I?

[ is sort of bored with standing now, so he folds his legs up and sits. in the air. floating. how awesome is this? ]

[He looks half-amused at that.]
