[The soft sound of music echoed out of a particular room today, but it was simply a cd player sitting next to the large armchair at the far end of the room. In said large armchair, Kairi sat with her legs tucked under her, staring out the window beside it, looking.. forlorn.

The door was half open, the room was clean except for a pillow and blanket still on the couch, she hadn't bothered turning the lights on, and outside that window there was rain dribbling quietly, thunder cracking in the distance.]

Well, isn't this a depressing scene.

[Jumps at the voice and turns, but then figures out which this is by the darkness.. she practically shrinks into her chair, watching him cautiously.

No. She didn't miss this one at all.]

What's wrong? Don't I even get a 'hello'?

[Nervous but swallowing quietly, she straightened a little and tried to not shrink back as much as before, lifting her chin slightly.]

Hello.

It's been a while.

It has been. [Sitting calmly when all she wants to do is bolt out of the chair? Yeah, this is her brave face. She's not one to be rude either and after a moment of hesitation, speaks again.]

How have you been? [However, she is not apologizing for punching his nose in and beating him over the head with a pan.]

Better than you, apparently.

Something on your mind?

[Raises an eyebrow at the gesture, there's nothing wrong with her room! She just cleaned it after all. Shakes her head, definitely not going to tell him she's worried about someone.]

Just enjoying the rain and some music. [Reaching over to turn the cd player off now.]

I see. And how've you been... sleeping?

I have been sleeping fine, to be honest. [The first few weeks after their last encounter had nightmares, but since that round of training, she's been able to sleep again.]

[Aqua's going to peek into the room curiously, drawn by the music, but frowns when she sees that expression.]

Are you alright?

[Briefly starts, but turns her head with a bit of surprise.] Huh? Oh.. [Forces a smile on her face, but it's apparent she's still feeling blue.] Yes, I'm alright!

[Disbelieving look goes here.]

You sure?

[Her smile drooped and she's turning to look out the window again with a sigh.]

... Boys are confusing. Or at least, this one is.

Ah. Boys.

[Tiny smile. She's going to walk over now.]

Far too complicated sometimes.

[She doesn't mind the company at all, reaching to shut the music off with a half smile.] He ran away and disappeared after I kissed him. I guess I shouldn't really have expected much else but..

Oh, I see...Well, Maybe it was too sudden for him.

Or, maybe he just hasn't gotten past the girls have cooties stage.

[Hoping a little joke might cheer her up a little.]

[That joke did help, and Kairi let out a small giggle.] He is pretty silly so maybe he really isn't past that stage yet. [Now a real smile finally pulled itself onto her face, bowing her head a little sheepishly.] I'm sorry I just keep talking. My name is Kairi, what's yours?

[She had an idea possibly but she couldn't be totally certain just yet.]

It's alright. I'm Aqua. It's nice to meet you.

It's nice to meet you! [Smiles brighter, this is the one Van said she should talk to about training!] Um, I have a question for you actually! I was told I should seek you out for training..

Oh. Really?

[She hadn't been expecting that. But she smiles.]

What sort of training are you looking for?

In general, and how to get from place to place quickly. Actually, who was originally training is the one who ran off, so.. [Gosh that's embarrassing to say, she chased off her Master?]

Ah. I see. Well, I should be able to help train you. What do you know so far?

[Smiles brightly then.] Really? Thank you! Well, I can attack and defend myself, and I can hold my own alright so far, but I've.. been attacked and lost in the past, so I don't want it to happen again.

I'd rather be able to escape then have to fight if it comes to having a choice though.

[Frowns a bit at the 'attacked and lost' part, but doesn't say anything about it. Not yet anyway.]

We'll focus on defense for now then. Reflect is a useful one. As for escaping, can you create portals yet?

Alright. [Shakes her head.] Nope, that's something I was hoping for too.

[Hmm.]

I think that one can wait. When using them, you should have something to protect you from darkness. I use my armor. We'll have to find something for you to use before I can teach you that.

[She doesn't want to risk exposing her to too much darkness. On a normal person it can be bad enough. She's not sure how someone with a Heart like Kairi's would handle it. And she's not willing to find out.]

[Nods again, she didn't know that was what was necessary to go through those corridors. The armor that Vanitas wore now made a bit more sense than simple protection.]

I'll look out for something then.

Alright. Well, I can start teaching you whenever you'd like. Just let me know when you're ready.

That's a pity.

Only you would say it like that. [Frowning, but she's learned not to give him anything he wants to hear. Hesitantly turning her head to look out the window again.]

I'll try to make a more memorable impression, next time.

[She's not about to say he already did and says nothing this time, acting as if she's more interested by what's outside the window -- rain.]
