[Riku's investigating a rather interesting room today. It seems to be a carnival. All the rides are lit up and the music is cheerful. There's food stands everywhere and they definitely look and smell delicious.

At the moment, Riku's at one of stands of a shooting game, taking aim and ready to win himself a prize.]

[Excellent! And once he finds one, he'll grin like mad.]

So, uh. You're... Riku, right?

[Nods.]

Yeah. And you're, Ventus?

That's right! But how'd you know that?

Lucky guess.

[Or not. But that's all he'll say.

Feel free to question him about it though.]

You sure?

[There has to be more to it!]

Why wouldn't I be?

[He certainly looks like he's sure. Although, there's still something about the look on his face that says he's not telling the whole truth. And possibly having fun with hiding it.]

I dunno. It's just kinda strange, I guess, 'cause I know I never met you back home...

Not me in person. But maybe a part of me.

[A part of him that he hates, but still.]

A part of you?

[That's odd... Now he's even more curious!]

[Nods and taps his chest.]

There's someone else in here.

[Ven might even be able to recognize that darkness.

He figures he might as well tell him a little. And he might be able to find some things out himself then.]

Someone else?

[Wait... that does seem pretty familiar. Is it...?]

No way!

[Nods.]

I've been managing to keep him under control so far though.

Man... That's two people I know who've had to deal with him now.

[A pause, as he thinks this over.]

So what's your story?

He was defeated, but his heart remained and needed to find a place to stay. It chose my heart. He'd been dormant for a long time, but just recently, he woke up and I've had to work on holding him and his darkness back.

You mean his heart actually made it?

[That's news to him! Strange world... But that last bit's a bit disconcerting.]

So he's tried to take control?

[There's a bit of a wry smile there.]

You dont have to worry. I'm not about to let him get out. This isn't the first time I've had to deal with something like this.

Really? So what happened before?

[Yes, he's full of questions. Kid can't help but be curious now!]

Let's just say I'm used to dealing with darkness, and leave it at that.

Darkness...

[He nods. That sounds familiar.]

I guess a lot of people have to deal with darkness.

It's a part of life. That's just how it is.

That's not a very positive outlook, though...

Not necessarily. Darkness isn't bad. It's up to the person using it. There will always be Darkness, just like there will always be Light. It's up to us to make sure they stay balanced.

Yeah, that's true. I've got nothing against darkness now, as long as people don't use it the wrong way.

But it's still pretty dangerous, and I wish it didn't hurt people so much.

[Nods.]

Well, whenever someone does use it to hurt people, at least there'll always be someone to stop them. That's what I like to believe, anyway.
