[most of Kai's friends know by now that he likes meditating in a certain outdoor room under a certain tree. but anyone remotely near that garden, possibly even those who aren't too good at sensing it, might feel that burst of Light. it seems a bit chaotic, and peeking into the garden will show Kai slumped forward, Light rising off him like smoke. it still feels like his, but it's... too strong, too bright. like he doesn't have complete control over it. maybe meditating while worrying so much about Rikka and the whole End of the Dressing Room plot Demon had told him about was a bad idea.]

[ew, why so Light in here- oh hey, it's a Kai. Kai's tentatively on her good list, thanks to the older one.]

What are you doing?

[lets Akane out of her stroller to play in the grass, since that was half the point of venturing out here to begin with]

[it takes a moment before his head snaps up, wide-eyed as he stares at her; there's no pupil, no iris, just more Light whiting out his eyes completely and making them glow. there's no recognition on his face at the moment, mostly because he can't really see her, nor is there anything said in reply to the question.]

[Well, that's creepy. She'll be trying to keep a safe distance.]

You're not planning to flip out and kill me or anything, right?

[her laughter is only slightly forced.]

No.

[he sounds like he's struggling to speak, like it's taking a huge effort for some reason.]

Only one will die.

And that one is...?

[Akane's starting to toddle off away from Larxene- she reaches out and grabs her daughter's arm to keep her close.]

One without heart, as you are.

[he can't even think of the name in this state, just that they're a danger to everyone here.]

He has brought... darkness to us.

Uhh, right.

[She wonders if he's posessed by something. Akane starts heading in his direction as soon as she lets go of her wrist. This is why we can't have nice things, child. B|]

No, Akane.

[Larx picks her up and holds her on her lap.]

[not really possessed, since this Light is his own (mostly). his head tilts curiously, though it's hard to tell if he's even looking in their direction. normally he'd recognize that name, but...]

A child?

Obviously.

[Stubbornbabby manages to squirm out of mommy's arms and speed-toddle towards Kai, forcing Larxene to follow. The intense Light feels strange to her.]

It will not be harmed.

[Larxene shouldn't be either, as the Light isn't malicious, just... bountiful.]

Not if you want to keep all your limbs.

[scoops Akane up again, a little surprised by how strongly she's annoyed and worried for her own daughter]

[there's not really any reaction to the threat, and his head is turned toward Akane.]

["No no!" A small patch of flowers nearby bursts into flame.]

Akane! Calm down! No burning things!

[Of course, her yelling only upsets Akane more, and she starts crying.]

[Light, much calmer than the smoke-like tendrils still coming off him, gently wraps around the crying child as the fire is abruptly put out.]

Hush.

[It works- Akane settles down right away. Larxene is suspicious, though, and backs away.]

What are you doing to her?

Light is calming.

[it's not even picking her up or anything, but that little bit stays nearby once Akane's settled again.]

[he'll have to forgive Larxene, she's just unusually riled up. This much Light in one place makes the space where her Heart should be hurt.]

Hmph.

[he is forgiveness, if you want to be corny. or something like that anyway. but when One Without Heart starts feeling, it's going to catch his attention. sorry if those glowing white eyes pinned on you are unnerving, Larxene.]

[Very much so.]

What're you staring at?

You are hurting?

[it's not really a question, even if it's posed as one.]

Of course not.

[Liiiiies. It's not a physical hurt; she wouldn't bother denying it in that case.]

And you are lying.

[there's vague amusement there, a flicker of a smile.]

I am sorry.

Sure you are.

[she'll just be moving further out of the Light. The effects will last a little while, though.]

I am. I do not mean to harm you.

[hell, he's still not even completely sure who it is, not even really connecting a difference between male and female voices right now.]

You didn't harm me.

[At least, she's pretty sure he didn't.]
