Survey says...

[Today Ienzo's set up several tables in the main room, each of which is piled with a stack of stapled pieces of paper. Each page consists of many questions, and there's even a writing utensil available for those who may pass by and catch interest in these questions.

As for Ienzo himself, he's seated on a nearby couch, watching to see if anyone responds. He figures that, after spending so long in the DR, a survey type deal might be intriguing. And what do the questions say? Well...]

1. What is your name?
2. How old are you?
3. How long have you resided in the dressing room?
4. What sort of world do you hail from?
5. Are others from your world present? If so, are they from roughly the same time?
6. Do you possess any special abilities? If so, what?
7. Have you experienced death, either before or after your arrival here?
8. Have you been affected by some of the spells? All of them?
9. What do you think could make this world a safer and better place for the residents?
10. If you had to choose between returning home without your memories of this world and never returning again or staying here and keeping said memories, but never returning home, which would you choose?

[He nods. It was intentionally tough, something he knows that would pull on the heart strings of some and put them to the test.]

I wouldn't leave. What awaits back home is a fate I'd rather avoid. Perhaps it's cowardice, but there's so much I'd rather not leave behind.

[So manipulative, Ienzo. Riku wouldn't be surprised, just like she's not surprised by that answer.]

[...He didn't mean it in a bad way! He just knows it's a tough question that would yield interesting results and, after all, he is a scientist. Still, he gives another nod.]

Well, I'm sure there are others who would agree. Some may have died before their arrival and only have death to return to, others may have found someone to cherish from a completely different world. Then there's the matter of friends, people who they couldn't have met anywhere else.

[Tsk tsk. Riku slides her paper across the table to him, moving her hand to her hair. It's that last one that gets her.]

[And he'll quietly take that paper, placing it on another table, face-down on top of his survey.]

In a way, this world is arguably safer than most other worlds as well, if you can cope with the spells and dangerous individuals.

Yeah. Sometimes it's their second chance.

[Which is kind of depressing if you think about it too much.]

Precisely. Or it could simply be that their lives before were too horrid, and this world is their first chance at a safe and healthy life.

I can think of plenty of people both would work for.

[Bad home worlds, dying, risk of... a bad future, to say the least. She shrugs.]

Precisely. At least here there aren't issues such as currency and permanent death, for example.

If deaths were permanent here, things would be a lot different.

[It would be easier when it comes to dealing with the bad guys, but... Too dangerous for everyone else.]
