[this gal hasn't been seen around for quite some time because ~~the mun forgot about her~~ she's been exploring and holed up in a far part of the library. but she's finally out and about again! and this time with a purpose- she wants to find someone to teach her how to fight so she doesn't have to rely on others to keep herself safe. of course, she's been rather distracted by this worn, heavy steel door that's suddenly appeared in a hall not too far from one of the popular kitchens. that's why it's open right now and there are Kairi-size footsteps leading inward on the dusty ground. the inside of the room looks... well, like the outskirts of a classic post-apocalyptic city.

and then there's a scream from just past that pile of building rubble about twenty feet in.]

[Tifa blinks at the door for a moment then her head whips around in the direction of the scream. Withotu a second thought she runs in the door and loos around for the cource.]

Hello?

[there's no response, but if Tifa rounds the corner there, she'll see Kairi and... what looks like a rather tall armored person or robot pointing a large gun right at Kairi. she's got a hand to her chest, having been quite surprised when she rounded the corner and came face to face with the gun! but the gunner isn't moving.]

[Oh what.]

Look out!

[She isn't taking any chances, so she's breaking into a dead run to tackle Kairi out of the way in case he decides to shoot.]

[Kairi yelps as she hits the ground-- and the gunner still isn't moving. not even a twitch.]

I-I don't think it's alive.

S-sorry...

[She's rather breathless as she gets to her feet and offers a hand up for Kairi.]

I didn't know, just didn't want to take a chance, you know?

[she takes the hand, but winces a little when she straightens her arm and the elbow is skinned.]

No, I get it. Sorry if I startled you... I just turned the corner and that was there, so I screamed.

[Oh dear. Tifa pulls a bandaid out of her pocket (she always has a stash on hand for when Yuffie hurts herself) and offers it to Kairi.]

Here.

[She looks around and hmms. This better not turn out like a zombie movie or anything...]

[she's going to try and get the little injury as clean as possible before putting the bandaid on. and don't worry, there's nothing to be worried about in here. except maybe tetanus.]

[ A scream? It's super effective and Riku runs towards the source (bumping his toes quite a few times in the process. His odd Keyblade is even called out, huh. ]

[welp, there's Kairi standing in front of a big armored dude with a gun! though armor dude isn't moving.]

[ Riku doesn't notice and is quick to slash, standing in between her and the armor dude. ]

[and the armor dude... topples over, thudding noisily against the ground. the gun is pointed at the sky now, as the armor hasn't even moved an inch. Kairi, meanwhile, is staring at Riku with rather wide eyes, trying to calm her heart.]

[ ... oh. Well, uh. He stares at his Keyblade for a minute or two, before looking back at her. ]

Uh--sorry.

I-It's okay, it's kind of my fault for screaming when I wasn't in trouble. I was just really surprised. Thanks, though.

... still.

[ He's a little red, rubbing the back of his neck, before he puffs up a little. ]

[d'aw, puffyku. she looks pretty embarrassed.]

I guess you must've heard me from out in the hall, huh? I didn't realize I'd screamed that loud...

... nah, it's okay. My ears're really good at hearing.
