[Eraqus has borrowed one of the main DR rooms for his own purposes. Sure, he could have conducted his business elsewhere, in a more private area or in the Departure rooms, but for reasons he intends to keep to himself, he's here. For a long while, he stands in the very middle of the room. Only a smile and a nod of greeting are given to any who pass him by. He waits and waits... and waits a while longer.
A world of worlds. This should be easy -- easier.
He breathes deep and lets his eyes shut as he reaches out with both hands, fingers slowly curling into fists to will the Light of this nexus, of the people who visit it, the worlds it seeks to mimic, to him. The room dims, its Light coalescing into a more visible form that gathers before the Keyblade Master. He draws the Light in closer, gesturing in wide, sweeping motions until the element is pliable and receptive to his heart.]
Show me.
[He whispers, half-begging, half-commanding the force he so reveres. And the Light obliges. The orb that had come together at his behest breaks apart into fragments, tiny star-light specks that scatter across the room. They form pictures of worlds. Radiant Garden, Land of Departure, Destiny Islands, worlds Eraqus has never heard of before. Worlds without names. As they're shaped, some linger and glow brightly. Others crumble, the spots of light they're made up of drifting to the ground before rising again to take on the images of different worlds.
All hearts that remain and prosper, all hearts that have succumbed to the Darkness.
Eraqus studies each of them in turn. He has never been as powerful as Xehanort or as wise as Yen Sid, but... hey, the guy sure has a way with the Light.]

I believe I've seen enough worlds for now. Perhaps you could show me something else.

There is much knowledge to be found in the Light, if you're willing to look for it.

He lets out a little gasp of awe.]

My Master took me aside once, shortly before I earned my title. He said it was important for me to learn that just because something is broken doesn't mean that something is lost forever. I thought I understood him, but I fear I may only now be learning the lesson he intended for me all along.

You could spend a lifetime visiting worlds and still not have seen them all.

His eyes widen at this show of light, though. It's definitely an impressive one, to say the least.]

As it is, Eraqus continues watching the light formations, not at all bothered by Ven's presence in the room. He glances briefly at the boy while the world image nearest to him shifts into that of the Dwarf Woodlands.]
Remind me, Ventus, what our duty as wielders of the Keyblade is.

took off despite my desperate pleas for him not to leave me alone with my power-hungry brother-figurewent into retirement. It's only a matter of having enough focus and dedication and drive. Okay, so an unwavering loyalty to the Light and years of training helps, too...Eraqus doesn't pay the boy much attention, which isn't to say he's unaware of his presence or even ignoring him outright. He doesn't look away from the light as it swirls and flickers, but he does speak up.]

Eraqus doesn't let the strange presence he can only vaguely sense keep him from his work. He watches as another group of Light shifts. Oh, is that Wonderland?]

The fact that she's even entering the room is probably strange, considering the amount of darkness overpowering her heart, but she doesn't even seem phased.]
What are you doing that for?
no subject
[Yes, that is a very clipped response. Yes, he does sense all that Darkness in your heart. No, he doesn't approve. He even stops scanning the worlds that surround the both of them to keep an eye on her. What is this all about?]

Distant hearts are not so distant after all... Could it be said our bonds allow us to carry a piece of our homes and our friends and families with us?
