[Kira is curled up on this corner of a couch, idly flipping through a fashion magazine, though she normally doesn't act this lazy. Anyone who looks at her closely might notice the paleness of her skin and the shadows under her eyes, but she expertly covered those little signs under her makeup. However, less easy to hide is the way she is wearing one of her brother's larger shirts (not black), whose sleeves come down to cover her hands. If you think she looks ill, you would be pretty close to the mark.]

Oh. I didn't. And the younger me doesn't.

[She looks down at Aden, brushing his hair back gently.]

I've never liked to think I couldn't change my future.

But what's bad about that? Shouldn't you be happy to know that you'll be happy in the future? I'd like to know if I was still fabulous when I'm old and wrinkly.

Hey, I just didn't want to think I'd be stuck in a set idea. The younger me... She doesn't want to think about getting that close to someone.

She's never met him, so I don't think you could say she doesn't like him. But she doesn't want to be a mother, and she doesn't want to imagine her life like this.

Well, it's cute. In a sometimes creepy way because of Uncle Red. But Aden is totally cute so I guess your gene thingys won out.

[She takes a minute to think about that, then slowly shifts upright.]

He should be fine. Hold your arms out.

Is he heavy?

He's definitely put on some weight.

[Which makes her happy. She twists to face Kira and carefully hands Aden over. His face scrunches up a little.]

Oh, he's a happy baby. Shh shh... it's just Kira, Aden. I guess I'm your bodyguard here, instead of the other way around.

[she rocks him a bit to settle him]

[Riku rests her arm against the back of the couch, watching Kira with Aden and looking curious. There's a soft smile on her face, and Aden's features relax pretty easily even as he squirms to get comfortable again.]

That's right. You and me are gonna be really good friends, you know.

[Aden gives out a little noise of protest as he moves, then sighs and cuddles up to her.]

[she coos happily, the smile on her face very gentle]
