Hm. Now I really just need a lab coat.

[Xehanort's poking at closets, today, picking up a few things to wear. Some success so far, maybe, but he's not done yet. What's a scientist without the white coat, after all? And he's still that, no matter what else he does, whether or not it's his primary goal...

Unfortunately? The next one he opens is filled top to bottom with black. Organization coats, in all shapes, sizes, and even some rather alternative designs (including a certain striped one). He groans.]

...you're just trying to annoy me.

True enough. But I can live in hope.

If you pretend you want something else, it might give you what you want. This place is uncooperative, not intelligent.

Sometimes, I'm not sure. But would my trying to fake it work?

It worked for me, once. I was looking for a particular sized beaker at the time, but I can't see why a different inanimate object would make the nexus behave more stubbornly.

[He looks thoughtful.] It's worth a try, I suppose. But - heh. If it's going to throw these in my face first, I might as well take what it's giving me. In case it does work.

Is it working?

...Mildly. At least this is harmless enough.

How convenient, although most clothes couldn't harm a fly if they wished to.

[He chuckles.] Sometimes I find it best to be on the safe side.

Safe is a state of mind. One that can left on the wayside quite well, actually.

For some people, maybe.

But not you?

[He laughs.] I prefer to try and keep my feet on the ground. Or at least remember there's ground to keep my feet on. Or I'm not sure where I'd be.

[Probably wearing one of those, he thinks.]

[Laaaaaazily flips over, for the hell of it.]

Has the ground treated you well?

[Shrugs.] It does its job.

How kind of it.

[A smile.] I see you'd rather not bother with it?

It's such an inconvenience, to keep one's paws clean when one does bother.

[Chuckle.] Good for you.

Besides, there's nothing down there worth the sight of it.

You prefer a different perspective on things, is it?

Why, there's no better way to experience things.

[He smiles.] Well - I can see the sense in that.

How sensible.

[He shrugs.] The others of me tried insanity. I figured I'd try logic.

Logic only works when things are logical. If they're not, best to try something else.

[Cat has a point, he thinks. A bit of a wave-] A lot of the time it works. Even somewhere like this has its own rules. ... [Chuckle.] And then one of them turns out to be 'there are no rules' on occasion, I suppose. Or 'things will make themselves awkward'.

Ah, but are they really rules or do we simply think of them as such?

Maybe more - guidelines. I'll accept that.
