[Saxophone music filters in quietly, then as loud as if you were sitting front-row against a blues band. The song is typical jazz--full of humor and brass and out-there improvisation. Even so, it's got a sort of melancholy feel. It's cut short, however, as soon as a rather obnoxious ring starts. In the small practice room, Riku sighs heavily, and picks it up.]
Riku present-- [and then he jerks the phone away from his ear as a yell is heard. ffffffffuck. His British accent is thick as he speaks--no, yells back--]
Hell, I'm not sure whether to call you a moronic dimwit or a dimwitted moron!
[and he hangs up quickly, glaring at his phone and getting up. Sitting with his bags is a white labcoat, and he drapes it over his shoulders, heading towards the door--and as soon as he's outside...
... he stares, and rubs his forehead.]
What is the Canadian equivalent as 'I don't think we're in Kansas anymore, Toto'?

Professor Hayes!

Mr. Skymning.

Where is this?

[He's silent for a moment, thinking, before he turns away and starts down the hall again.]
Come along.
no subject
Yes, sir.

The room inside is his lab, full of equipment both familiar and unfamiliar to someone from a nonmagical world, as well as quite a few other things. There's the heart in a jar on one of the shelves, glowing softly, as well as the scroll of paper up on the wall depicting a detailed illustration of a naga's insides. There's a free chair by the desk, which is also near an incredibly large nest of blankets.]

You may take a seat, Mr. Skymning. I am unfortunately rather busy at the moment, but I will answer your questions while I work.

What are you working with?

[One must wonder what exactly he needs something like that for when he looks perfectly fine.]

[he struggles to say it, squinting and tilting his head, as if a wound would just magically appear.]

[Massive frown get. He did make a faint gesture with his head toward that naga illustration on the wall, however.]
no subject
Returned to his world... so this isn't a dream?

Sir? You've met this nonhuman before. I didn't know they ... [he turns and looks at the illustration on the wall before turning back towards him.] ... existed. Worlds--plane theory? Do more of them exist? And if so, how many-- [he stops himself, knowing that too many questions could just make Vexen want to shut him up.]

[it comes as a shock to him--he probably should've thought as such, but wouldn't it be much easier to assign a number to everything? A moment passes, before he straightens.]
At least that man isn't around? He... isn't, is he?
no subject
Not as such. There are, of course, variations of many people here, coming and going at all times.

Beautiful.

[Sounds like whatever is in front of him is bubbling for a moment, before settling with a soft hiss.]
However, this place does, at least, prove entertaining on occasion. There are numerous rooms, some holding duplicates of worlds themselves, however small, as well as things you would be more acquainted with such as the game room and library.
no subject
... a library. [you know how to excite him, don't you.]
no subject
[That was totally not a smirk in his voice. Of course he knows how to get an academic excited.]
no subject
H... how big is it?
no subject
[Does Riku have something to say about Vexen's long silky locks. :|]
It hosts books from a number of different worlds, and is constantly growing. If I recall correctly, one young man here was able to follow his monthly magazines because of that.

Where is it?

[He's pausing in experiments to write down a small list of instructions!]

no subject
[That wasn't a threat, that's just dangerous experiment.]
no subject
[his hand lowers to his side.]
no subject
[Have a piece of paper, Riku. There are instructions right there on it.]

Should I come back here?

I'll stay there for a while. I should be able to find my way.
