I don't figure this is some unpredictable consequence of that portal that Mister Hawkings had us go through. I do quite remember going through that without a hitch, persay.

[ Well, someone is talking to themself all perplexed to the fact she's not on her ~~boat with her flippy-floppies AKA Canine~~ ship anymore. So what does a feline captain do? Wander about of course! With a slower than average trot. Someones still sore from a healing wound. Gdmit. ]

A portal? [Curious passerby is curious.]

This place likes to kidnap people, I guess you could say.

Ah, yes. A portal.

I must press, did you say 'kidnap'? Are you suggesting that this location is sentient then?... Or is there some sort of circumstance pulling people here?

What kind of portal? [Genuinely curious, but he's nodding a bit.]

I wouldn't say it's sentient but it's somehow drawing people here and trapping us, so it's easy to say 'kidnapping'. No one has figured out why we're ending up here, but overall it's a nexus of worlds meeting up. [Gestures at one of the doors.] Some lead to other places but they're just fake copies of the original places. There's no one in them unless they've been here first.

How curious, so these worlds I would gather wouldn't quite be in the form of interstellar places then. Complete different dimensions...?

The portal I spoke about was something of a transportation tool that was used to instantaneously go to one place in the universe to the other. An infamous bunch used it before we found it.

Kind of, in a normal setting. Usually I use a gummiship to travel between worlds. But this place is all messed up so there's alternates of everyone nearly.

[A room full of melting clocks. Isn't that nice? Glances behind her.] .. And sometimes there's rooms like that where it's just weird stuff.

Huh, that sounds pretty neat actually. Cuts down on the traveling time at least.

A... 'gummiship'? Alternates?

Strange... And it does, though I'm quite afraid the last I remember the home of the device was being blown to smithereens. All for the better I'd imagine.
