[ There's a fairly ordinary Riku exiting the kitchen with a sandwich hanging from his mouth and a bottle of juice in one hand. He's juggling it with a set of books, not even paying attention to what's going on around him -- he doesn't need to, to be honest, because he's navigating the halls like an expert. He does stop halfway down one, turning over his shoulder as he watches a pair of his own doubles walk past with obvious confusion. He's just full of mixed signals, isn't he?

Oh yeah. That heart of his? That might feel familiar. ]

... Stopping for a second. Someone can sense darkness! And, well, a strong heart. ]

[Oh well there's no end to those around here. Riku looks totally casual, just waiting to see what he does.]

[ He glances back for a second.

... And then he starts walking again. He needs to find Vanitas! D< ]

[Well, Riku knows when to keep quiet and when to speak up, especially when something is clearly not right with his situation.]

What are you looking for?

[ And he'll stop again. ]

I'm looking for a masked boy; his name is Vanitas.

I've heard the name, but...

[He's never actually talked like one, so he shakes his head.]

You haven't seen him.

[ Things keep getting more and more difficult for him... ]

No, and if I had, it probably wouldn't be the one you're looking for.

It doesn't matter at this point. If there really is more than one, then it's important that I find each of them quickly.

And what do you plan to do with them?

Whatever it takes to stop them.

[ He won't explain why, though. He's a man on a mission! ]

If you're planning on killing them, that won't work here.

[... He might as well take a bite of his sandwich.]

[ "Kill" might be a bit strong. He's never really done that before, it's more... stopping them above all else, although that does confuse him. ]

Death isn't permanent here. Usually when someone dies, they just come back a few weeks later.

[Riku would like to know what he planned to do to stop them that didn't involve killing.]

That's impossible.

[ ...sigh. ]

Then again, I could say that about the rest of this place.

[A nod.]

[ He nods right back. ]

I just got here today. It's a little overwhelming.

[He's really not in the mood to go into it right now.]

Look, I know it doesn't help to hear, but you'll get used to it.

Even if I do get used to it, I'd rather not stay here too long.

Sometimes. But they just come right back.

In other words, this world just won't let go...

Does anyone know why this happens? There has to be a reason why people keep getting trapped here.
