[In a kitchen, there's a very normal (albeit greying) looking Vexen, seemingly asleep in a chair with a hat siting over his eyes. There's a cane resting across his legs, inconveniently laid out across as much of the main walking space of the kitchen as possible.

Anyone trying to walk around or step over will 'mysteriously' find that cane moved to trip them up, but when checked, no sign of movement or wakefulness on his end.]

She knew everyone teased Even and Vexen to be old, but this one took the cake. ]

[twitch twitch twitch go the fluffy ears that were hiding under that. Since it's kind of hard to hide alertness now he'll just put on his glasses so he may look all disapprovingly at you over them.]

[ Headtilt, not just yet taking it off, but something inside was moving. ] Oh, you're awake.

Pills not even working? [ Takes off the hat -- ohtheears. It's one of her favorites! She wears the hat. ]

I've got a tolerance now.

[ She... is compelled. Scratch scratch is a go. ]

You look older than usual, too. What's up with that?

[Where as younger him would be completely melting by now, he isn't showing much reaction ~~though pressing discreetly his head up against that~~]
Back in time I think. I wouldn't know by how many years.

[what about those who are little enough to just duck under?]

[well, he isn't about to hurt a kid anyway ~~having done plenty of that when he was younger,~~ but if he ducks under, he'll just block the way with the cane in a ttly natural sleep movement to see what you do.]

[he'll thunk his head right into it, is what he'll do. you're asleep, so he wasn't exactly expecting it to move. thankfully, it didn't hurt]

[must... not... lol... that snort can totally be passed off as a sleep noise right? Though he's smiling a little under that hat.]

[rubs his forehead a bit while he looks at you, then goes to try again, this time ducking lower and keeping his eye on that cane]

[Well of course he's going to do it again, totally natural sleep movement right? Though if he tries a third time he'll just let tinyku through since he's just teasing rather than trying to be mean.]

[he's frowning very hard at that cane when it goes and bops him again. this time he's literally crawling along the floor, as fast as his hands and knees can take him]

[That snort came out more a slight snigger, though he hopes you didn't notice. He's very much free to go this time though.]

[his mind is much more focused on pulling the drawers from under the counter one by one until they resemble steps, which he plans to be climbing up]

[oooh, yeah that kinda looks like it might be little dangerous once he opens his eyes to see what you're up to.

So up he gets, to pick you up and put you on the counter, he'll inquire about what you were up to in a sec, but first, remove the risk, then adjust his hat to make sure those ears of his don't show. ~~he'd really rather not freak you out.~~]

[he hasn't put two and two together with the rest of your appearance, the age especially throwing him off. he's a little surprised at the help, but then he's giving a bright grin]
