With all you did, nothing has changed

[With being sick, some days were better than others. Most of the time Cloud could function well enough to do normal things, like getting food, doing laundry, or wandering around. On good days he even managed to go to the simulation room and train a little. It was better than doing nothing, after all. Today, however, was not a good day.]

[There's a trail leading down the hallway, of what could pass for blood. If it weren't black instead of red. Just droplets that started out sparse on the floor, getting more frequent as they rounded a corner, and lead to the blond slumped over on the ground. He was trying to get to his room but hadn't made it before the hallway started to spin and turn black. Cloud mostly looks like he just fell asleep in the middle of the hallway, but with his sword attached to his waist, he might be something of a tripping hazard to people who aren't paying attention.]

[Blink. Aqua wasn't expecting this. So she's going to pick you up and drag you up the hall to her room. If you wake up to this you can hear her mumbling to herself as well.]

[Being dragged does make him stir a little, eyes peeling open. He doesn't seem to be fully conscious though.]

[Aqua gets him to her room and after a bit, gets him up on her bed. She'll wash the black stains out of her sheets and stuff later. She gets a bowl of cool water and a washcloth and starts trying to clean him up as best she can.]

You'll be okay...

[Spoken quietly as she focuses on taking care of him.]

[She'll probably have to take off his sleeve, and the bandages which have been pretty well soaked through by the black ooze. Don't mind that his pupils look a little like slits instead of rounded when he manages to open his eyes again.]

[Aqua is very careful as she takes the sleeve off, then tugs her dark blue trash can over. then she looks the bandages over and very carefully takes them off, tossing them in the can once she's done. then she picks up the bowl and washcloth again and returns to carefully washing the black stuff off. She was a little nervous about this but it was the least she could do right? She couldn't just leave him there.... As she does, she notices the eyes and her own widen just slightly.]

[She doesn't have to worry about it too much, since once he blinks a few times his eyes go back to normal. As normal as the eyes of someone infused with mako look anyways. After a few more moments he seems to come to, because he sits bolt upright and pulls his arm away.]

[Oh look you made her jump. She sets the washcloth down and looks aside a moment before looking back and speaking.]

My name's Aqua....you...you were passed out in the hall so I brought you to my room to take care of you.

[Why did she have a sudden bad feeling about this?]

[He wasn't trying to make her jump, it was just a little weird to wake up with someone you didn't know leaning over you. He didn't mean to make her feel bad about it either, but he had been trying not to let anyone find out for a long time. Cloud gripped his arm lightly.]

[Aqua relaxes a bit then goes about cleaning up around her bed, just trying to make small talk for now.]

So what was that black stuff?

[That's sort of a hard question to answer for small talk. He's rather uncomfortable with his arm being exposed, since even if she cleaned the black liquid off, there was still the blackened skin all over his upper arm.]

... It's a disease.

[When he spots his sleeve, he's going to take it and start pulling it on, despite the fact that it was partly soaked through.]

You sure? It's still all messed up and stuff.

[Riku's found random people passed out in the halls before, and it's never been a good sign. As soon as she catches sight of Cloud she's darting over, crouching down next to him to check his pulse.]

[Hopefully she isn't taking his pulse off his left arm. Because otherwise she's going to get the black ooze on her hands. He's still got a pulse, though his breathing does seem a bit shallow.]

[Well now she had to have - she doesn't pull her hand back though, looking down and assuming it's blood. The color surprises her, making her think of something else.]

[At least Geostigma isn't contagious. He stirs a bit, eyes peeling half way open, though he clearly isn't coherent yet. That's probably due to the fact that his vision is still flickering between what he's actually seeing and some kind of black and blue haze. His pupils also look like slits. But don't let it worry you too much.]

[Worry? Naaah. Startle? Yeah, definitely. She takes his face in her other hand, shaking it a little to try and get him back to his senses. Despite this, she is very much prepared to defend herself if he decides he wants to attack her.]

Cloud, look at me.

[Wow, that's dizzying when you are seeing spots. It makes Cloud blink, which snaps his eyes back to normal. He groans, trying to push himself up with his right arm.]

... Riku?

[That's all she needed to hear! She lets go of him completely, leaning back to give him room.]

Yeah. What happened to you?

[When he tries to move his left arm to push himself up properly, he grimaces. Maybe he'll just stay laying down for a bit longer.]

I must have passed out...

Why?

[People don't pass out for no reason. But she's not looking at him anymore - she's looking down at her fingers, rubbing that black substance between them.]

[He had opened his mouth to answer, but following her gaze made him pause. Ignoring the protest from his body, he pushed himself up to sitting, ripping off part of his sleeve that was still clean and offering it over to her.]

I'm sick.

[Riku looks surprised by that, then her brow furrows, but she takes it anyway. She looks down again as she wipes up her fingers.]

[He doesn't like having the black marks on his arm exposed when they aren't doing anything - getting the black slime on someone's hands was worse though.]
