[ There is a Riku sitting on the beach, completely soaked. But she hasn't been in the water. It's raining loudly, thunder cracking across the ocean. There's an open and abandoned umbrella at her side, and the sand all around her is smooth and clear, except for the messy remains of her footsteps. It gives the feeling that everything's been washed clean. Propped up against the doorway sits a stroller; yes, she has her baby with her, but unlike his mother, he's quite protected, bundled up in a tiny raincoat and extra clothes underneath. He's quite safe. And while that coat has a hood, that's all there is to shielding his face. There's no point in hiding him anymore. ]

[Well, someone's plopping on the side the umbrella isn't on after a silent hello to Aden.]

[Aden is sitting quite comfortably in mommy's lap. Mommy can't see very well, given that her bangs are flattened down over her eyes.]

Hey.

[Ah, well he bent down to say hello before sitting then! And he's snorting, reaching over to push them out of the way a bit.]

Hey.

[...He's standing in the doorway for now, watching and trying to decide whether he wants to go in or not.]

Thanks.

[Riku smirks, shifting and holding Aden up so he can look at Red. Easier, anyway. That hood makes it hard to turn.]

[She knows he's there, but she sees no reason in calling him in. Riku won't mind if he does decide to enter, but that's completely his decision.]

Maybe you should start bringing a hairband with you if you're going to sit out in the rain.

[Heeeeey baby. He's going to take some time to give Aden a proper hello.]

[In the end, that damnable curiosity wins out and he starts heading inside slowly.]

And throw everything off?

[Well there's a quick way to make Aden happy. Watch his little arms flail.]

Want him?

[Saw that one coming a mile away. Riku doesn't do anything to move Aden, just bends her head down to press a kiss to the top of his wet head before she looks over her shoulder. She's not saying anything, still.]

That a trick question?

[Kid, stop being so adorable. He'll be taking Aden if Riku's willing to give him up~.]

[He almost wants to avoid looking at her when she looks over, but he resists, coming to a stop a few feet away.]

So am I allowed to see him now?

[Yes, yes, she's willing, and gives him up fairly easily. Once her hands are free she'll be wringing her hair out (not that it does any good).]

[She shakes hair out of her face, then twists to look at him better. Aden is still shielded by her body, but only for now.]

Do you still want to?

[He watches her for a moment, thinking over the question. He could turn around right now, but what would be the point? He might as well get it over with.]

Yeah.

[Pfft yeah, good luck with that while it's still raining. His hair's already getting soaked, but he doesn't care, paying all his attention to Aden.]

[She figured that would be a hard question, but it gets a nod, and she shifts Aden a little.]

Sit down.

[Alright, he's going to sit down, watching her intently.]

[It's... slightly lighter, at least? She pushes hair out of one side of her face, pulling her knees up to rest her other arm across them.]

Think he likes it?

[She twists further in the sand, keeping Aden comfortably turned toward her until she's completely facing Red. Aden squeals and wiggles, his tiny feet kicking at the air until she sets him back down, where he leans back against her chest, face tilted up. Red should be able to see him perfectly.]

Well he's not bawling, at least.

[Which is always a good sign!]

*looks who's poking his head into the room, Kira carried close to his chest in a baby sling*

There you two are.

Well I tried to keep him mostly dry.

[His face, especially.]

[Yeah, he's silent, and staring hard at the kid. It's very, very strange seeing those eyes paired up with that hair, and entirely unwelcome. It also firms his resolve; this will not happen to him. He doesn't think of Riku like that, and never will. He can't even fathom what kind of problems that kid's going to have with a father as messed up as him.]

Good idea. Still, if he didn't like it, he'd let you know.
