[it's not unusual to find a Sora hanging around the beach. it's especially not unusual to find him fast asleep either, sprawled out on a beach towel with his face snuggled comfortably against his arms.]

[he was lucky to stumble on a new beach room today. it's quiet and open, and although he was sure he'd never been to this beach before, Sora felt like it was familiar all the same. the sand's a little softer and less compact than he's used to, but that only makes it more comfortable and easier to fall asleep on. the beach seems to stretch past the horizon in both directions. he's been out here a few hours, but the sky is still settled in a sunset; the sun remains just barely above the water in front of him, and the sky blazes bright red and orange. there are a few small houses here and there along the beach, and lights from the buildings in Twilight Town twinkle in the distance directly behind him. there's a watermelon stand nearby as well.]

[he's been sleeping for a little while now, so he won't be difficult to wake up.]

[Having been walking down at the beaches shore for a while now, her pants rolled to her knees and her shoes being carried along while the tide washed over her feet, Riku blinks when she spots someone up in the sand. Smiling quietly when she realized it was a Sora, she veered from her path and approaches.

Setting her shoes down and crouching, she leaned to get a look at him--yep, totally asleep huh..]

[completely- he might even be snoring a little! he shifts a bit and curls up, nuzzling at his arm in his sleep. a good poke will get him up and moving, though.]

[Smiles a bit more and reaches to lightly shake his shoulder.] Sora, wake up sleepyhead.

[blink, blinks up at her, then gives her a sleepy smile.]

[There is now a Kairi bending over him with her hands on her hips. She's trying not to smile, but isn't doing a very good job of that.]

Tsk. Sora, you lazy bum.

Mm mmm.. M'wide awake..

[of course he is! that's why he's still curled up, and why his eyes are still closed.]

[Laughs a little, just taking a seat beside him.]

[Sora rolls onto his back and streeeetches with a yawn, blinking up at Kairi sleepily. one side of his hair is pretty much flattened against his head.]

[Sounds disbelieving, but reaches over to brush some sand off of him.]

[Sora sits up, grinning widely at her. after a minute he realizes the wild-- wilder-- state of his hair and, flushing, flails a little in an attempt to fix it.]

I guess it's really easy to fall asleep here.. It's kinda different than home, but it's still really peaceful.

[it is such a relaxing and comfortable silence- one that Sora unintentionally interrupts with a slight tummy grumble. he rubs his eyes and turns to look at Kairi.]

Man, I'm starving.. Want to split a watermelon?

[our minds! but there's probably a coconut lying around he can crack it open with. Sora hops to his feet and takes off toward the watermelon stand. he even comes back with an extra towel since watermelons are so messy.]

[For a second, I thought you were going to say heads. Towels are always a smart idea, and she will be taking one with a smile.]

[well, he couldn't find a coconut to smash it open.. a keyblade is just as good, right?]

[Stays back and out of the way, then. Leave it to Sora to resort to using his dazzling heroic moves keyblade to open a watermelon.]

[what, it's entirely an efficient way to slice a watermelon! and well, okay, he does want to show off to Kairi a little. Sora spins the Keyblade so it's facing blade down, and swings down on the watermelon like an axe. watermelon explosion! most of it is still edible, though.]

[She isn't going to even bother asking when the last time that keyblade was cleaned though. She probably doesn't want to know. But yay watermelon~! She claps as if impressed.]

[it's probably about as sanitary as the axes people use to smash watermelons! he will run back to get a bottle of water to attempt to wash it off, though, looking quite proud of himself that he's impressed Kairi.]
