[ In the Destiny Islands room, there's a girl sitting at the shoreline of the play island. The tide's washing in up to her knees by now, and her feet are buried by the sand that the water has pushed around over the last hour that she's spent here.
What's she going to do today? There's an ocean to be swum, an obstacle course to be run, a paopu tree to be visited, exploring to be had (although she is pretty sure that she already knows this place like the back of her hand), and so much more.
Oh. Her fingertips brush against something in the sand, and she peers down at the half-exposed thalassa shell beside her hip. She digs the rest of it out of the sand, then holds it out for the tide to rinse it off.
And now Xion knows. This is her favorite room she's stumbled upon since her arrival. ]

Curiosity gets the better of Xion, and she's pulling her feet out of the sand and brushing sand off of the backside of her shorts once she's standing upright. She casts another look in the obscure shape's direction. It sort of looks like a monster with an extremely pointy head and some kind of long nose. It's an elephant gone terribly wrong!
She has to make her way up to the bridge before the sunlight is out of her eyes enough that she can make out the figure molesting the paopu tree. All those sharp points had been hair, and that nose? It was an arm. It's Sora. She grins, quietly making her way up to the bent tree trunk. She places her palms on the wood, beginning to vault herself over it only to stop short and end up sitting atop it. ]
You're working awfully hard to get that.

[she startled the heck out of him, but luckily Sora has a kung fu grip on the paopu tree. he glances over his shoulder at her, grins, just a little sheepish, and makes a lunge for the nearest paopu fruit. almost got it!]

She's pretty sure she's never seen anyone so determined to get a piece of fruit, but she remembers the story of the paopu fruit, so she supposes it's not just a fruit. ]
Do you want some help with that?

[one more stretch and he plucks a fruit off of the tree, then he has to wiggle around a bit until he's able to sit up without flopping right off the tree. whew! Sora holds onto his prize, still grinning, though now it's out of triumph.]
That took way longer than it usually does.
no subject
You mean you usually do this? Who are you sharing all your fruit with?
[ Scandalous, Sora! ]

[turns bright red. smooooooth, Sora.]

You can tell me. You don't have to be embarrassed~.

What kind of educational purposes?
no subject
Really important ones! Trust me.
no subject
I don't know... I think you're lying.
[ She's comfortable enough with the fruit now to hold it back out, trying to bop Sora on the tip of his nose with it. ]
no subject
[crosses his eyes when he gets bopped, and tries to make a grab for the paopu when Xion pulls away.]
no subject
Really? That sounds good.
[ Hello, weird feeling. Xion's positive she's never had a paopu smoothie - or, for that matter, paopu fruit - before. But it sounds good. ]
... How many of those do you need to make a smoothie?
no subject
[starts to lean back to pick another paopu- better safe than sorry!]
no subject
[ And there he goes, molesting the tree all over again. Xion frowns, hands unconsciously moving out protectively. If Sora began to fall, supposedly she was going to grab his ankles? Being subconsciously compelled to protect someone; now that's powerful brain-washing. ]

I haven't really been home in a long time.. And the tree only has paopu fruit a short part of the year.
no subject
There's a heavy sigh, and Xion sinks down in relief against the tree. She peers down at him. ]
Is that the thing you missed most about home? The paopu fruit?
no subject
That's one thing I miss.. I miss my family and friends who stayed home while I was away, too. I guess a paopu smoothie would help with the homesickness.
no subject
Taking his hand, she slips down from the tree, recomposed well enough to hear him out. But she's looking at the paopu fruit with uncertainty... Fruit can't make up for a missing person. ]
You haven't found any of your friends from your world since you've been in the Dressing Room?
no subject
[there's a tinge of homesick in his eyes, but his smile is small and hopeful. Sora shifts the paopus around in his hands.]
It makes waiting for them to arrive easier, anyway.. Want to go make these smoothies?
no subject
Of course.
[ Xion glances back across the bridge. ]
Are we going to the kitchen or is there some way to make smoothies here?
no subject
[folds his hands behind his head, his smile now stretching to a grin.]
no subject
[ Yes. Xion's eyes brightened up. ]
Hankering? Heh heh.
[ She laughs at the silly word, taking up the lead as she begins walking back. ]

[Sora falls into step behind her, but he's lagging a little, contemplating. she's not the first Xion he's met, and he has only a very vague understanding of who she is. still, the two of them have been hanging out here like they've known each other all along, which leaves Sora wanting to find out more- and possibly, to find out how to help her.]
