[there's a Nami seated on the floor in a room done up in soft blues and greens, papers scattered around him. on the papers are various things; people, places, snapshots in time, fixed in coloured pencil- they all have two things in common: the dressing room and Kai. Nami's almost done fixing Kai's current memory problem, and will probably be completely finished in the next day or so. at the moment he's started on what looks like a riverside clearing in a forest.]

[smiles up at Roxas, setting the coloured pencil he was using down.]

Kai can't be awake while I'm working, and if he wakes up when I'm not, the things I've done get jumbled again. So I'm out until I finish, since his body still needs food and rest.

Well it's good to see you again, bad circumstances or not...

And you, of course. I was going to take a break after this piece, if you'd like to stick around.

[he'll just try and keep that hopeful note out of his voice. it's always nice to talk to people.]

[Nods once and takes a seat beside him, keeping quiet so he can focus.]

[goes back to drawing, pleased. he doesn't rush it, of course; that could be dangerous.]

[Yes, very bad. He doesn't mind waiting, just leaning back and relaxing a bit.]

[it shouldn't be too long before he finishes up, leaning back with a small sigh and moving to carefully collect all the pages. they don't need to go in any particular order, but he's still putting them in one anyway.]

A few hours, today.

Mm, I should be done by tomorrow or the next day, at this rate.

[he was only planning on taking a break once or twice today to get food, really.]

Wow, you work fast.

[Stands back up, offering a hand to Nami.]

It's easier than when I was working on Sora. Kai's memories haven't been unlinked the way Sora's were, they're just jumbled.

[takes that hand and pulls himself up, the sketches and coloured pencils held to his chest with his other arm.]

So you're basically just putting his memories back in order?

More or less. And I'm going to try and help him along with sorting the extra ones from now on, so it's easier on him.

Does that mean you'll be around more?

Mm, it depends. I was mostly going to just help while he meditates, since I don't have to draw when it's with him.

He's lucky to have someone like you to trust with these things.

A lot of the other versions of me don't like Soras much around here. I doubt they'd do that for them if they had the power to.

Roxas is... a special case. Or maybe it's that I am. I'm not sure.

Either way, it's still nice of you to do this for him. It's not fair for you to have to be merged with him, but you're not bitter about it or anything...

[Shrugs.]

I respect that.

Well... it's better than what I've had in the past, so I can't be bitter. And Kai's a nice person, so I don't mind.
