25 days

[a set of double doors suddenly swing open early this morning - she never really had a proper sense of day and night in the castle - and a girl Sora wanders through, expression switching from slightly worried, to shocked, to bewildered.]

Whoa... Naminé?

[it's been 25 days since she picked a fight and lost to Axel, and subsequently woke up back home - 25 days to go about her business, and to be properly and completely broken.]

[That grin is contagious enough that it gets a small smile from her, though she glances between Sora and Kai curiously.]

How, um... how can I help you...?

[After a moment, she looks to Kai for help.]

Sora... the memory thing is a pretty long process, and most of the time, Soras end up getting put to sleep for it. The normal amount of time is about a year. It's possible Naminé won't be able to fix your memories with you awake.

[pauses, running a hand through his hair.]

Not to mention your Roxas is probably not here... that could be a problem if you do get put to sleep.

Roxas is your Nobody. She's a part of you, and in most worlds she's needed in order to wake you up again.

[Naminé seems fine with letting him talk, since he knows more about all this.]

It's... probably possible for you to have your memories fixed while you're awake, but it could cause problems.

[immediately puts her hands up, and waves them a little.]

I don't want to make it difficult on anybody.. What's the easiest thing I can do?

[After a quiet conversation with Kai, Naminé comes back over to Sora.]

Um... if you don't mind it taking a while, I can work on you a little every day, for an hour or two while you nap...

... Yeah, okay! Maybe I can work on trying to remember on my own, too.

[Sora loves naps! although they might hit a roadblock quite a bit messier than the one most Soras hit once it comes time to return the memories Roxas is holding.]

You can. Even when memories are unlinked, they're still there somewhere.

[She's kind of really nervous about this- she's not entirely sure it'll work the way Kai suggested, and the closer they get to the room they're headed for, the more she's wanting to ask if it can wait a couple days.]

Sora... w-would it be okay if it waited a couple days? I don't mean to be mean, saying I'll do it and then making you wait, but I'm... very nervous about this, I-I don't want to make any mistakes.
