25 days

[a set of double doors suddenly swing open early this morning - she never really had a proper sense of day and night in the castle - and a girl Sora wanders through, expression switching from slightly worried, to shocked, to bewildered.]

Whoa... Naminé?

[it's been 25 days since she picked a fight and lost to Axel, and subsequently woke up back home - 25 days to go about her business, and to be properly and completely broken.]

I'm sorry! I'm lucky if I remember my own name these days, really!

[Shakes her head.]

Relax, Sora. I know what's going on.

[relaxing is not an option; Sora just feels really terrible about her lousy memory now.]

[Hey hey, none of that face. Riku moves closer, head tilted.]

What were you doing just now?

I was just with Naminé. She said she was gonna fix my memories.

[Frowns.]

You've really got some bad timing.

[But she'll be looking around to see if any Naminés are in sight.]

I do? How come?

[... kind of squints at Riku, still trying to remember her name. she does sort of recognize her face, though!]

You're supposed to be fixing your memories, aren't you?

[Looks back at her, one eyebrow raised.]

Well.. Yeah, but I'm not even sure how Naminé was going to do it.

[reaches waaaaay up and pokes Riku's shoulder lightly, like it's going to actually jog her memory or something.]

She has a special power, it--

[Blinks at her.]

Sora?

[blinks right back, deep in thought.]

... Starts with an 'R,' right?

[Pauses, then nods softly.]

My name?

Yeah.

[well, if the poke seemed to have helped, Sora will just take Riku's arm.]

I .. I do know you... I just can't remember..

[Nods again, letting her do that.]

You will. There should be a Naminé here that can help you.

Will you help me until I find one?

Yeah. Don't worry.

[Gives her a smile. But, wait...]

Do you know anything about this place?

[glances around.]

Yeah. I'm pretty sure I've been here before.

[dawnrise]

Good.

[That helps a lot.]

[smiles, and pulls her hand back.]

What now, then?

I guess we should find a Naminé, and see what she can tell us.

[Like how long it would take to fix, and if it's even possible here.]

[wandering along will solve half of the equation, anyway -- Sora opens a random door out of curiosity, revealing a large white room with a certain pod in the middle.]

[That's... kind of awful for Riku to see after so long, but at least now she knows where to find one if they're successful in locating a Naminé.]
