[A Riku, appearing to be in his late thirties, steps out of a doorway and glances around. He is dressed in a nondescript work shirt and pants with suspenders under a period military coat that cuts a dashing figure. There's a quizzical expression on his face, but not one of fully-committed confusion.]

Doctor?

[He takes a few steps forward, then turns on his heel slowly to examine his surroundings, and lets out a low whistle.]

Very interesting.

(Torchwood!KH crossover. First-time poster here, please excuse any errors. (: )

[C'mo, c'mon, they have to be here somewhere - Hold up. She'd recognise that coat anywhere.]

Riku?

[Upon hearing his name, Riku freezes on the spot. There's a guarded look on his face, and he's carefully poised for imminent danger. Even so, that voice is pretty familiar..]

Kairi?

[He turns to face her, and there's a funny little smile on his face as he takes a few steps forward.]

Bit of a strange situation we're in, isn't it? Have you seen the others?

[Oh, it is you. She's got the most relieved smile on her face now.]

No, I haven't seen them here. [She pauses, taking a few steps forward. She's thinking about hugging you, but that would be pushing it.]

When did you get here?

[He's feeling the relief too, even if it's not showing.]

Just then, actually. Have you talked to anyone?

[This question is posed just as he watches a Sora meander past them a few metres away.]

What is this place?

[There's a slight furrowing of his eyebrows, like he's trying to unravel the mystery of it all, but inwardly he's fascinated by it all, too.]

Yeah, I talked to... [Hmmm, should she say he talked to the daughter of Namine and a Riku clone? And that she can shoot darkness and fire at will? Perhaps later.] A girl. Named Emily.

[Spots the Sora, heart leaping - and no, not him.]

She called this place a crossroads. There are doubles of us and everyone we know here. [Looks at him, seeming almost helpless.] There's no way out.

[His head snaps back to her, and he has one eyebrow cocked.]

No way out? Kairi, you know better than to tell me things like that.

[It's like he's taking that as a challenge - wait, yeah, he definitely is.]

Come on then, we should have a look around.

[Blushes a litte - she feels like she's let him down.]

Well, that was what Emily said, and everyone I've spoken has confirmed. People just appear here.

[But you know what? She's still gonna come look around with you anyway. Because if anyone can find a way out, it's Riku.]

Okay. I've had a bit of a look already. There are tonnes of rooms here - kitchens and bathrooms and bedrooms. It's like it goes on forever.

[He's taking long, purposeful strides to disguise his mounting confusion. Riku never gets confused. There's always an explanation for things, even that explanation usually boils down to, well.. aliens.]

Maybe we should talk to more people. See what they say. If what you said is true, we should be able to find some people who've been here a good while longer than us.

[See, she's been trying to come up with an explanation, but all she's got thus far is 'magic did it'. Which is obviously ridiculous.]

Okay. [Smiling, increasing her pace slightly to catch up. It's going to be okay now, Riku's here, he's gonna get them out.]

[Riku wonders when he's going to run out of answers and escape routes. Glancing at Gwen with a lopsided grin, he dismisses the thought. New opportunities bring greater things, he thinks.]

So, Kairi, tell me about this girl you met.

[...Crap.]

Her name was Emily. She... looked a lot like you. [Noot touching the parent thing just yet.] She could do magic. [Riku, you better be able to explain this one. Please, her brain, it's breaking.]

[Eh? Why the hesitance? Usually she's quick on the uptake to tell him anything and everything. You know, trust and loyalty and -]

Magic?

[Here's an eyebrow quirked at you, Kairi.]

[What don't look at her like that.]

She shot fire at the wall. Out of nothing! And she shot... something else. She called it 'Darkness'.

[Oh, he's looking alright now. He's stopped, even. In the middle of his tracks, looking bemused but intrigued - the customary reaction to most unusual, as-yet-unthreatening-incidents.]

Darkness?

[Pensively, Riku rubs his smooth-shaven chin. The following is said more to himself than to Kairi.]

Where's Namine when you need her?

That's what she called it. It looked like it too. Just a stream of darkness, from nowhere.

[What why you mention Namine. Kairi has awkward face on. Then again, it could be a double of Namine that was her mum! Why didn't she ask this before? ~~Well, it was because mun got lazy and let the thread die but nevermind!~~]

[This is my thoughtful face.]

Uh huh. Well, Torchwood's seen a lot of things but this is definitely sounding new.

[Paces on the spot, trying to recall if he's heard/seen/encountered anything like it before - you know, drawing on past experiences. Not even technobabble can save him in a foreign environment.]

[No, but being pretty can! Also, you fail at being encouraging. Explain this shit already!]

Riku, we're going to get out of here, right? We have to go back.

[True dat. But you know, being pretty is a bonus. Riku is quite the clever fellow - most of the time.]

Yeah -

[He's nodding.]

yeah, we will. Once we figure this place out.

[Now, Riku's not known for his pretenses. So there we are - blatant candour. He won't pretend he knows everything, if even he knows almost everything.]

[Kairi gains 10 reassurance points!]

I knew it. [Beam.]

[He smiles back at her, just because he's Riku.]

Good girl. I knew you were right for Torchwood - no expecting all the answers all the time for everything.

[Stops in his tracks. Puts on his thoughtful face.]

We need to somehow contact the others, too.

The communicators don't work. I haven't found a way of contacting the outside.

[Pause, thinking face.]

Although, the others could already be here. Or come at any moment.

Hmm.

[Riku's somewhat intrigued by this, but there's a certain helplessness to the situation that frustrates him a little. At least in Wales he has the Hub. And, you know, technology to help him.]

Do you think it's worth bothering for now? Shall we keep looking?

[Honestly, he's not feeling the urgency anymore.]

They'll find us if they get here. I found you. [Looking forward to spending more time with Riku? What are you talking about?]

So what now?

[Isn't entirely convinced by her belief that they would find them, but okay. Sure.]

Well -

[Riku glances around, locates a chair and turns it around to sit on it backwards.]

- there's not much we can do. Unless you want to explore?

[He raises an eyebrow.]

[Well, they can take care of themselves until they find us. Except for Roxas, I suppose.]

I've explored plenty. [Pulls out another chair from nowhere, and sits.]

Anything exciting to show me, then?

[Is looking around like he expects to see a traveling flea circus or something.]

[What why you put her on the spot like that? Also, no, no travelling flea circus. Sorry.]

There was how Emily could do magic. I haven't seen her lately though. ~~Actually she died and came back, but Kairi doesn't know that~~

[He's smirking, like he knows he just put her between a rock and a hard place. Secret senses, yo.]

Okay, now I'm curious.

I already told you, she shot fire and that 'darkness' stuff. [Memory fail there, Riku.] I don't know who she did it.

[Leaning over the edge of the chair.]

No, I meant, what happened to her?

Hey there! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any issues with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing a few months of hard work due to no back up. Do you have any methods to protect against hackers?

Right now it looks like Expression Engine is the preferred blogging platform available right now. (from what I've read) Is that what you're using on your blog?

[Riku's craning his neck trying to get a good look at everything, and then he spots a strikingly familiar fellow. His eyebrows furrow, but his feet are already approaching the stranger before he can spot the reason for the inexplicable familiarity.]

Uh, pardon me?

*he pauses and turns around, green eyes blinking at you in confusion*

Yeah? What is it?

[Riku blinks twice to rid himself of his surprise, and then there's a curious smile. He's not nearly deterred enough by the other guy's stand-offishness.]

Yeah, hi. I don't suppose you know where we're currently standing?

*he blinks some more, looking up and down the hallway*

... you're standing in a hallway. Main kitchen is that way, chocobo stables are two hallways down. It's a little early in the day to be drinking, isn't it?

Yeah yeah, I gotcha.

[Riku dismisses the very familiar-looking stranger's comment with a casual wave of his hand.]

I mean - wait, chocobos?

[Okay now he's intrigued. And a little perplexed.]

Chocobos. Big birds? You haven't seen any around the DR? I'm heading to the stables right now.

Big - birds?

[He's puzzled, but he's trying not to show it.]

Listen, this is going to sound a bit forward, but I'm coming with.

*gives you an appraising look*

... I'm very happily married, thanks.
