[And just like last year, the main room has been cleared out for a Grand Halloween Ball! There's music playing, food for every monster/animal/zombie you are dressed up as, and a few dancing skeletons to liven up the mood.

Also. Don't go to the dance floor alone.

Because you will find yourself dancing the "Thriller" automatically :}

[Sora takes that as an invitation for a hug, which is exactly what he could use, so he tries to scramble into Riku's arm to hide his face in her shoulder.]

[he's making it sound like he's single-handedly canceled Halloween. Sora just smothers his face in her shoulder.]

[now where did his pumpkin pail go? he must have accidentally thrown it in his flailing.]

[Whoops. She'll look around on the ground, nudging things with her boot to see if it's nearby. Did... did the jack-o-lantern eat it?]

Ah! There it is!

[waves frantically at the pail -- it is lying upside down on the floor and .. scooting along on the floor away from them, as if something were underneath.]

[...... steps over to poke it with her foot.]

[the pail wobbles a little as whatever it is underneath there jumps in surprise, then it skitters off in a hurry.]

[Oh no you don't. She's setting Sora down so they can follow it.]

[... maybe that's why it's running. Sora gives chase!]

[he makes a spectacular dive at the pail, wrapping his arms around it and holding it down using his body weight -- there's the sound of something struggling inside the pail, like several little legs scraping against the plastic.]

[Quickly kneels down beside him.]

[By that she means 'let me make sure nothing is going to fly out and bite you'.]

[scoots the pail over to Riku's hands so it won't try to take off again once he lets go.]

[She takes it, keeping one hand firmly on the pail and one hand on the ground as a barrier when she slowly lifts one end up.]

[... yeah, a monstrous, hairy, disgruntled spider bigger than Riku's hand scuttles out, fangs twitching threateningly. aside from having a pirate-themed birthday party, this is probably the coolest thing Sora has ever seen.]

[That gets her jerking her hand away pretty fast. She's going to put it in front of Sora to keep him back as she stares down at the spider.]
