[there is a barefoot Riku that just walked through a doorway, but he stops abruptly and seems to be staring intently ahead of himself]

How is that even possible?

Well, there's a number of possibilities. I've seen something similar to this happen as a result of technology gone awry. Of course, that required an entire spacecraft and a black hole, so I doubt that's the same thing here. It could be magic of some sort, or a kind of dimension nexus, but either way it--... [ah, tangent. sorry about that]

It's possible. Unlikely, but possible.

[this is starting to give him a headache]

Okay, so say I believe you. How do I get back home then?

[has that effect on people] I don't know. People seem to come and go at random. I'm told that we'll be sent back to right when we left, but we don't know when.

If they told you this then they're obviously still here. How would they know what it's like when you're sent back unless they're lying?

Some have had the misfortune of going home only to somehow end up back here a second time.

I don't. I choose to believe them. If they're wrong, then I'll deal with that when the truth comes out.

[he's quiet at that, a flicker of emotions moving over his face before settling at grim determination]

[he doesn't move, other than to stop looking like he's about to knock your teeth out if you come too close, his jaw clenching briefly]

I need a favor.

[relaxes marginally] Yes?

[looks away from you, hating that he has to ask]

I need you to bring me something I can use as a walking stick.

[a little surprised] Are you injured? I can perform healing spells, if that's the case.

[smiles bitterly]

If it could be fixed that easily, I wouldn't need the stick. You're welcome to try if you want, though.

[he's not sure what he means, but...] I'll see if I can find a cane anyway, just in case.

[and he's off]

[he'll just wait where he is, because he doesn't know what there is in this room to run into or trip over :|]

[luckily he doesn't take too long!

...unfortunately the stick is a Halloween prop. it looks like Dracula's cane, complete with bat-handle and silver trappings] Um...this was all I could find.

[cautiously approaches to hand it to him, although his brows furrow. the other Riku didn't move at all, did he? not even to sit down]

[turns at the sound of your voice, holding his hand out casually]

I'm sure it'll be fine.

[places the cane in his hand.

he's figured it out, now, but he's not going to say anything. though he self-consciously adjusts his glasses] Do you need anything else?

[uses both hands to hold it at first, running them over every inch to see just what exactly it is you've given him, his brow furrowing a bit when he gets to the decorative part at the handle]

Weren't you going to try to cure me?

It depends on the nature of the original injury. Some things are too delicate for magic.

But I can still try.

[leans on the cane a bit, and gestures toward his eyes, his voice still as bitter as before]

I took a hit to the head in an accident about six months ago. In case you haven't figured it out, I can't see a damn thing now.

[starts to nod, then stops himself] Have you been to a specialist? That sounds like something internal...cures work mainly on surface wounds, or broken bones.

[but he's calling his Keyblade anyway, a slender, wing-shaped thing that's platinum in color. it makes a sound like a chime]

Yes, I- What was that?

[he couldn't see you call your Keyblade so that caught him off-guard :|]
