[ This Riku's mostly been trying to keep to herself lately, but right now she's settled into a recliner in the library, flipping through a novel. Or, she was. Now the novel is lying open on the coffee table in front of her, spotted with blood as she yanks tissues out of a box. ]

[turns her attention back to the book she picked out. From the blurb on the inside cover, it looks like it's not really her type after all.]

[Doesn't say anything, instead starting to pull herself up to clean the tissue pile.]

Hey, at least you want it, right?

[Pauses once she's up, looking at her.]

I guess. I didn't plan this, and I didn't want it in the beginning. But it's happening either way.

[pretends to be looking for another book.]

[Judging by her tone, either he's not, or she just doesn't want to say he is and narrow it down.]

[... well, so much for "it could be worse," if Riku meant the former.]
