[Today is the day of the ball, and as such the entry to the Grand Ball Room is wide open, a sound of music echoing through the halls. Not too far away are signs pointing to the general area, intended to help those who are new as well as remind those who are interested.

The room itself seems incredibly clean, thanks to a few enchanted brooms, some of which are still there to clean up any messes from the food. Speaking of food, there is a large table with many delicious meals to choose from, from classy foods to simpler snacks such as chips and even a bit of treats for the children and others who enjoy sweets. And of course, beverages are present, such as punch, water, soft drinks, and even a bit of wine for the adults. Off to the side is an ice box, which may in fact contain sea salt ice cream.

Similar to the last ball, there is a comfortable area set off to the side for those who would rather relax, maybe take a break from dancing. It consists of comfortable chairs and couches for the guests, and even smaller tables for beverages.

Of course, the main attraction is the dance floor itself, which is dimly lit by a chandelier and the occasional candles here and there. The aforementioned music at the moment is classical, a sort of waltz and seems to be coming from no apparent source-- but one may notice somewhere in the ball room that Mickey himself is present, dressed not only in proper masquerade attire, but also with a familiar hat.

Anyone is welcome to enjoy the ball. However, if trouble should arise Mickey does have a Keyblade and would be more than willing to intervene; this is meant for enjoyment, not violence.]

[he's bleeding heavily, bent over himself and gasping for air. before the claymore had dismissed, well it ended up in his ribs as intended. he screams in pain, emerald eyes focusing on the blue-haired man and sending more fire his way, surrounding him with it so it licks at his coat]

[the familiar presence and the hand in his is more than enough to reassure him that everything will be okay- even if he can't really see what's going on. he knows Saix said he'd kill anyone who came to help, but he's positive the two Axels can at least keep him off. hearing the other Axel, the one screaming, he works up enough concentration to cast a heavy Curaga on the man, hoping it'll help at least somewhat.]

[wraps his arm around Kai to keep him as close as possible, tucking Kai close to his chest, using his free arm to direct more fire to join the other Axel's, hoping to smother Saïx with it, a low growl rumbling up from his chest.]

[the Curaga helps, and he's great to feel the damage repaired... but apparently it's not meant to be, because he's not safe from Saïx's attack. he screams in agony, several gashes appearing on his body. he tumbles to the floor, clutching at himself]

Damn it... get Kai out of here!

[he cringes at the screaming, hiding his face against Axel and trying to work up the power for another Curaga to the injured redhead. it doesn't come out all that strong, unfortunately.]

[gives it up as a lost cause and does the smart thing; scoops Kai up in his arms so he can't try and resist, and gets the hell out of there, dashing for the door, Kai tucked protectively against his chest. doesn't stop moving until they're well out of and away from the ballroom, finally stopping in a quiet hall somewhere and collapsing against the wall, breathing hard.]

[a last ditch effort, he sends a wall of fire in front of Saïx to keep him from chasing after, giving the redhead and his Axel time to escape. the Curaga fixed a few cuts, but the rest are still happily bleeding. he slumps and gives a heavy sigh]

[keeps his face hidden, trying to calm himself down. he's got his eye(s) closed to keep from dealing with the weird change in sight, so he's not sure how far they are from the ballroom now.]

[unwilling to set Kai down just yet, and takes half a second to continue trying to catch his breath before pushing off the wall, heading down the hall at a fast walk, just wanting to get them as far away from the ballroom as he can.]

It's alright, he's not laying a hand on you ever again, if I can help it.
