[Sora struck a deal recently, and it happens to be one he's really determined to uphold. a small section of the library has fallen into slight disarray: books are scattered across the floor, the chalkboard is covered in scrawlings -- most of them are of his name, but other names and random letters of the alphabet are scattered here and there.]

[right now he's on a nearby chair, out cold with his face pressed against an open children's book. learning is tough -- hopefully no one wanted to use the book after him, either, Sora has been known to drool when he sleeps.]

*here's the library and he sets you down so you can go to your book*

[hops back up on the squashy chair he was sleeping on, and snatches up his book.]

Here it is! It's got lots of dinosaurs!

*sits in the next chair*

How about you read me your favorite part?

Okay!

[opens the book and flips through it, unsure at first of which part he liked the best. he eventually stops at the page on the t-rex, but he's never going to be able to sound out the full name.]

*once you get to it he doesn't mind helping you pronounce it*

Tyrannosaurus Rex. Ty-ran-no-saur-us. You can also say 'T-Rex'.

Yeah, he's got a big name 'cause he's really big!

[skims down towards the bottom of the page.]

The .. the Ty - T-Rex is -- bigger than .. sev -- sever .. several s ..

[skips over 'school'.]

Bus .. es!

... 'school'. The word you skipped is 'school'. School buses.

Oh .. Why's it spelled like that then?

[thinks about this for a few minutes.]

And, all the older kids back home always walked to school!

S-C-H-O-O-L spells 'school'. IT's one of those funny words, like fish.

And they walk because Destiny Islands doesn't really need things like school buses. But they use them on some bigger islands.

Oh! Can we get a school bus to come to the library every day, Daddy?

*chuckles*

The hallways aren't big enough for a school bus, 'bug. They're really big.

Oh ...

[looks entirely disappointed by that, but he pauses in his pouting after a minute to peer back down at his book.]

*ruffles your hair*

Finish reading the whole page, 'bug.

Okay.

[makes his way slowly down the page, sounding out random facts about the mighty T-Rex -- apparently they might have been scavengers, and could run pretty fast.]

*once you're done, he gives you a huge hug*

That was great, 'bug! You read it all yourself!

I did it! I learned about dinosaurs!

[clings back happily.]

You did! Or, at least, about one dinosaur. But I think that's good for today. You worked really hard.

Yeah! Yeah we can go swimming now! Let's go swimming!

Alright. Tidy up your books and we'll go swimming.

Yeah!

[busily stuffs the book back where he found it -- luckily he doesn't do any damage in his wild stuffing -- and takes off! he's not headed towards the pools, though, he's making a break for the beach room. who needs swim trunks?]

[and once they get there, he just .. crashes right in and dives headfirst into a wave.]
