doing that positive role model thing

[He's sitting in the library, in that little corner that he's set up as a kind of classroom. There are a number of books stacked on the table, some simple math problems on the chalkboard, and he's sitting and grading a workbook with a red pen. Maybe he should take a break eventually, but right now, he's dealing with multiplication.]

I really need to get those times tables...

[OOC: Feel free to interrupt! I forget whoall Ri promised to teach (besides his Little Brother).]

It's nothing to be ashamed of. Many of the children here have gone without proper education for months.

It's why I intend to teach the Kairi from my own world.

I may do so, then. Thank you.

[smile~ He's still pretty surprised to see Ri teaching.]

Though I would be careful. Some of the material here is, erm...questionable.

No, what I mean is that this library contains material that ought to be kept away from children, though I imagine you'll be keeping a close watch on them.

Nevertheless, Xehanort recently uncovered something incredibly obscene hidden in a textbook, of all things.

Perhaps it's for the best. Nearly all of the children here are incredibly young; they needn't be concerned with such practices for quite some time.

Hm, well what is he interested in? Perhaps you could locate a book related to his interests.

Six is about the age one should learn how to read, yes. Kairi knows a bit herself... Children enjoy using their imaginations. Perhaps you could encourage him to learn by mentioning the possibilities of reading?

You could always inadvertently teach him. Perhaps treat it similarly to a game or use visuals.

Ah, similar to Kairi, then, although recently she's remained close to me, due to unfortunate circumstances.

It was a few weeks ago, but... well, I assure you that it wasn't intentional.

[identity profile] radiantprodigy.livejournal.com 2009-05-28 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Likewise. It's one experience that I'd rather not repeat.

It wasn't a pleasant experience, by any means, temporary or not.
