[ Riku's in a lounge room, going through a stack of books she snatched from the library - a very large stack, with subjects ranging through different types of magic and science. Some are a mix of both.

Oddly enough, the scent of darkness - rather, hers, for those familiar - is thicker than usual. Somehow more exposed. Or maybe it's something else. She has a thin black blanket thrown over her shoulders to hide her missing arm, and as she leafs through a book on healing magic, the look on her face is one of frustration. ]

That would take too long.

[Tenses up immediately before she realizes it's a Sora, then turns to look at him.]

... Studying.

[ Grins when he notices Riku tensing ] It's okay, I won't bite. Especially not you.

[ Sora leans over a bit more, eyebrows raised in interest- he squints a bit and twists his lips in different angles- but to no avail, he's illiterate, after all. ] Oh! Studying what?

[That gets little more than a slightly annoyed look, but it's only half-hearted. Now that she's (somewhat) relaxed, she turns back to the book.]

[ Rubs his head, smiling sheepishly. He leaps in front of Riku in excitement at her response, though. ]

What kinda magic? I'm real good at magic, even if I'm not learned!

[Leans back into her seat, looking at him.]

Uh... Healing magic.

[ Blinks- he doesn't seem as excited as before. ]

Healing magic? [ Frowns ] Something must be wrong if you're trying to learn healing magic.

Something like that.

[She's not too keen on the idea of explaining it to a Sora she doesn't know.]

[ Puts his arms behind his head- a change of subject might be good. ]

[Roxas turns the corner and puts a book back on the shelf before looking down at the other in his hand, but at the sound of her voice looks up at her.]

Oh, hey.

[A Roxas, eh? Give Riku a minute to glare look at him before she recognizes which one he is.]

[Looks through a couple more books on the shelf, glancing over at her after a moment.]

What have you been up to lately? Not burning any kitchens down, I hope.

[Turns back to her book, flipping a page.]

Not quite.

[Pulls a book out, looks at the cover, and puts it back. Yes, he judges books by their covers.]

'Not quite'? ... are you burning other things down?

I might be.

[Doesn't take her eyes off of her own book, pausing on the page and then flipping back a few.]

[Stops and turns to look at her, raising an eyebrow.]

... you don't blow up microwaves too, do you?

[Well now she's smirking down at the book.]

No, I leave that to the guys.

['Sup Ri. She looks up at him, at the same time kind of discretely drawing her injured shoulder away. There's a rather foul air of darkness around it, but it's not incredibly noticeable.]

*oh you can't hide that and he immediately goes to lift the blanket, since he wants to check on the Darkness he applied to you to bind your wound*

Healing magic? I'm sorry I'm so crap at it-- stop moving around, I wanna check the 'bandage' I put on you.

[Nope, her hand's going to cover that shoulder and keep the blanket covering it.]

Don't worry about it. It's fine.

Riku-pi, I have to check it. I wanna make sure my Darkness isn't damaging you, and whether you're absorbing it or rejecting it.

[Looks right back at him with a frown. She's being stubborn about this.]

I said it's fine. You'd know if something bad had happened by now.
