[Well, we haven't seen this fine young vampire in a while. But there he is, sitting at a counter and playing with a deck of cards. How uncharacteristic of him. Maybe he wants someone to play with? ]

It's no shame to lie in my trade, Mr. Lioncourt. But I'm afraid I can do you something better.

[And he lays down three fours.]

[Oh, he tries to be discreet about his cheating. The that he can and will alter probability doesn't hurt.]

I suppose I could find it in my heart.

[Luxord tends to be of the opinion that humor helps make the life of Nobody more bearable.

As for the cards... simplest to say that Luxord's placed his hopes in the green-eyed Lady who's never failed him and who leaves when her name is spoken. And maybe, just maybe, a twist of probability - invisible to all but those who know what to look for.]

Winner? Say rather no one but a humble servant of the Lady.

[But all the same the cards are laid down... and proven to be once again the better hand, all odds to the contrary.]

It's a title I strive to live up to, as best I may.

[There's a faint smile at the mention of the reward.]

Ah yes. You've something already in mind I take it?

[identity profile] antedupmyheart.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
An eye for eye. Or rather, blood for blood. Fair enough for your tastes?

[identity profile] antedupmyheart.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
It might come in a handy thing someday. Certainly no worse than cursed Aztec gold, I'd wager.

[Not, of course, that he actually intends to drink Setzer's blood. Bad enough bearing the curse of a Nobody, really. To bear the curse of the vampire on top of that would be a bit much for even him.]

[identity profile] antedupmyheart.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
[Still, it's not something Luxord intends to become. Better as a safeguard against possible futures, or a bargaining chip when needed.]

I presume you do still bleed?

[identity profile] antedupmyheart.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
And what is it that you propose then?

[identity profile] antedupmyheart.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
I've life enough as it is, extending that time is not precisely among the things I'd care for.

But the rest sounds fair enough to me.

[identity profile] antedupmyheart.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
[Good thing he wasn't going to change his mind. Cheater and scoundrel though he is, he's generally good as far as his word goes. And besides, it's not like he's really using that blood anyway - it's probably a little dark-tinged, if Setzer can tell that sort of thing.

So he'll just wait patiently for the time. Not like he hasn't gone through worse.]

[identity profile] antedupmyheart.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 02:08 am (UTC)(link)
With this.

[And he pulls out a smallish glass vial from one of the pockets in his coat. Where he got it (or indeed whether or not it had always been there) is anyone's guess but it'll do quite nicely for catching blood; which is conveniently enough the purpose Luxord sets about putting it to.]

[identity profile] antedupmyheart.livejournal.com 2009-04-19 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
[Oh, he will. Just not immediately. Instead, he waits until he's gathered what he considers a fair amount in the little vial and stoppered it back up again before he says anything.]

That will be quite enough of that, I think.
