[ The quiet laughter of a little girl can be heard drifting into a hall leading to a garden. It sounds like she's trying to keep silent, but it's not working out so well. Looking inside, one could see why. Kairi's lying on her back in the grass, covered in butterflies. One in particular has made itself comfortable on her nose. ]

[He thought he heard a kid, so Roxas is peaking in from the doorway.]

What're you doing?

[Kairi slooowly turns her head to look at him, and when she speaks her voice is hushed.]

'M playin' with th'butterflies.

[Mimics her quiet voice and tip toes in.]

How'd you get 'em to sit on you like that?

You gotta be reeeeally still an' quiet.

[Oops, there goes the one on her face, fluttering off then landing on her nose again.]

[Sits down a couple feet away just so he doesn't disturb them.]

Wow... you must've been laying there a long time.

Yeah. But not too long or I might've went t'sleep.

[might have anyway, if he hadn't come in. a few of the butterflies move around, and there are more still in the air around the flowers.]

Then you'd be covered in butterflies!

[Laughs a bit at the thought and lays down flat on his stomach, watching the butterflies fly around.]

[starts giggling, which sends a few of the butterflies off.]

Are you gonna let 'em land on you too?

Maybe!

[That is, if he can manage to stay still long enough.]

It's fun! It's where butterfly kisses come from.

[you can do it, Roxas!]

What're those?

[He's doing good so far!]

You don't know what butterfly kisses are?

[shocked!]

Nuh-uh!

[Looks to her for an explanation.]

It's when you tickle somebody with your eyelashes.

Ohh...

[Has never heard of that. He assumes it's a girl thing. but look! he's still lying motionless, so there's a butterfly landing on his head.]

[she was going to say something else, but she goes silent at that, not wanting to startle the butterfly.]

[Another one comes and lands on his elbow and he watches it closely, whispering a 'whoaa'.]

[positively beaming~ and back to whispering, of course.]

See, it's not so hard.

's kinda cool.

[Suppresses a laugh when he feels a butterfly kiss on his elbow.]

It's kissing me!

[giggling again.]

I told you!

[Laughs and scares the one on his head away.]

Oops.

[giggles softer.]

You gotta be careful.

Right.

[Lays really, really still now.]

[does the same, giggles disappearing. for now, at least. another butterfly has landed in her hair.]

[Another one lands on his arm and begins walking towards his face and he watches it, muffling a laugh.]
