[in her own world, broom at hand and sweeping one of the many hallways. while this place does clean itself up eventually, she's just being picky. there are too many people here and this place isn't working fast enough.

[Well here's someone to talk to if you're so bored. With a small black cat trailing silently behind him.]

[one that she almost sweeps up, squeaking in surprise and bending down to touch it.]

Ahhh, you're so cute ...

[He turns back at hearing her voice, watching. The cat is a sucker for attention from just about anyone, so expect purring and affection.]

Oh--

[now she notices you, Riku, and smiles a little.]

Heh, is it yours?

[scratches under the chin, eyes still on Riku.]

[Nods, a hint of a smile on his face.]

She is.

What's her name?

[behind the ears now, marveling at how eager it is for petting.]

I've never had a cat of my own, there was a stray that used to come around my house, but it'd only get close enough to let me feed it, not touch it.

It's Prue. One of my friends decided that the perfect solution to me loneliness was to get me a cat.

Really.

[makes a face at that, because the Riku she knew was allergic.]

Well, has it worked at all?

[the concern rises in her tone, hands falling away from the cat as if she won't hear if she's too busy petting.]

[He reminds himself that this is the Kairi who he doesn't have to try lying to.]

...Not really. I mean, a little bit, but. Not that much.

[so with a huff, she hauls herself up and practically flings herself at Riku, giving him as deadly of a hug as a girl her size can give.]

[Quite a bit startled, as he wasn't expecting that.]

Maybe you just need to find an inspiring book.

[peeks up at him, then puffs her cheeks out.]

And don't give me a look like that! All you ever do is look like you need a hug.

[Purses his lips, breathing out a sigh.]

I'll be okay. I think. Roxas won't let me do anything that harmful, even if I told him to go away.

You will be okay as long as you want to be okay.

[thumps her forehead against his chest to emphasize her words, or at least that's what she'll say if he asks. her hands fall to her sides and feet step back once, eyes back up at him.]

I'm glad Roxas tries to take care of you though. Even if he has a weird way of showing it.

I know that. It's all in my head anyway. Sometimes I'm not sure why he works so hard to keep me out of trouble. Guess that's just who he is though.

Maybe he likes you.

[tilts her head.]

[You do know how to get someone flustered, eh Kairi?]

N-not like that. He has a girlfriend.

Aw.

[taps her fingertips together in thought, then suddenly--]

Do you like him?!

[Still looks embarrassed about this, but his expression is honest when he shakes his head.]

He's more like... my annoying brother who winds up babysitting me.

[she laughs a little, then straightens up.]

It always seemed that way back home, too. Riku would do something silly and all Roxas would do was nag.

[Relaxes a little, trying to smile.]

He does nag quite a bit. But... I know he's right, so i can't really tell him off for that.

Right! So even if Roxas has a loud mouth he knows what's good for you. Don't ever forget that.

[wags her finger in reprimand, but she's smiling too.]

So, besides the cat ...

[who she peeks back at once to make sure she's still there--]

What else have you been doing?

[He'll keep from mentioning his little drug habit.]

Not much of anything. I figured I can't complain about loneliness if I'm always in my room, so I hung around the main rooms... No one's ever around when I do though.

Well if you wanna hang out ...

[she shyly points towards her door, a hanging 'DO NOT DISTURB, BEAST HAS CLAWS' sign dangling off the knob.]

I'm really not all that busy and my food gets lonely because I make too much.
