[the corner of a room is suddenly occupied by a boy of about 16, huddled silently in the corner. his hands are behind his head, fumbling with the ends of a blindfold as he ties a clumsy knot over his hair.]

[the blindfold has never been necessary, really; he only kept it for show, and out of a fear of being discovered that he never really bothered to admit to. he straightens, eyes concealed, but if the way his shoulders are raised, he's surprised to see his new surroundings.]
