wish away the nightmare

[Having woken up before Riku, his sleep troubled by unpleasant flashbacks of his recent death, Axel got dressed as quietly as he could manage and has wandered (carefully; sore? a little) into the kitchen. He's not sure he could stomach food right now, but he could really use something to drink... Tea sounds tolerable.]

[good thing someone has already prepared a pot of tea (without hallucinogens, thank you very much, Alice), then. Roxas is sitting at the table, drinking a cup of it, so it can't be all that bad.]

[Axel's grateful he doesn't have to go through the trouble of making it himself! If, of course, Roxas will share.] Can I have some of this? [He indicates the pot, already reaching for a cup.]

Thanks... [A number of unfortunate run-ins with rather violent individuals has made Axel cautious, and he's found it's best to check and make sure others in the general vicinity are not going to maim him for taking their tea. Or just existing. He pours a cup and leans back against the counter to drink it, kind of staring off into space.]

Eh? Oh, just... Uh, didn't get much sleep. [He shrugs.]

[sips the nice tea with calming herbs. mm.]

Is it that obvious? [He sighs.] Yeah...

[eyes Axel as if silently inviting him to sit down at the table. it feels a bit strange to be so far away from someone he's talking to.]

Well, good guess. [Axel takes that silent invitation. If he's gonna carry on a conversation, may as well move a little closer. He seats himself at the table, wincing just slightly with the movement, and doing his best to hide it.]

[he notices the wince with even more familiarity. while his injuries didn't hurt anymore they still bothered him.]

... [Axel studies Roxas for a moment.] How old are you?

[Did someone say awkward time with Riku? It hadn't been long after Axel got up that Riku had woken up. He had a pretty bad headache, or more accurately, hangover. That was the main reason he had just pulled on a random pair of pants and a shirt, with the rather rare sight of his hair forced into a ponytail. How he looked was the last of his worries right now...]

[Don't mind the portal opening in the kitchen, with a rather groggy and irritated Riku coming out of it Axel. He's too fixated on finding coffee right now to notice you.]

[Oh heyyyy... Axel's movements can best be described as 'skittish' as he retreats out of Riku's way, and hopefully line of sight.]

[He's going to ignore the fact that he just saw Axel. Because that meant that his small shred of hope of just having a really messed up dream died. Damn. Well. He can at least get coffee first... Riku moves over to the coffee pot, grabbing a mug and pouring some.]

[Axel's going to cling to the chance that maybe Riku didn't notice him, lingering nervously by the fridge, pretending to be very interested in the magnets. He really doesn't want to find out what Riku with a hangover is like, especially after what happened last night.]

[Mm... coffee. He'd normally go and add one of those weird coffee flavor things to it.. but Axel is next to the fridge. That's a dilemma. The need for coffee is wining over his want of avoiding the other. Riku goes over to the fridge, stopping short of the other.]

Are you going to get something? If not, move.

[Act casual... Act casual... Oh crap he's coming over!] Uh. Oh, uh... Here. Go for it. [He moves out of the way, retreating back a few paces to stand there, shifting nervously.] So, uh...

I'm back. [Clearly.]

[Goes for the fridge, opening it and finding one of the coffee flavorings. After putting some in the coffee, Riku finally starts to drink it, shutting the door to the fridge.]
