[Ansem here recently found an unused laboratory so he's been bringing over a number of books from the library. While there are other places where he could read, he prefers the quiet laboratory where there’s a smaller risk of being disturbed. Now he’s just sitting there by a desk with an anatomy book in front of him, studying the illustrations of the internal organs. However, do feel free to bother him.]

[partially exploring and partially looking for someone he knows, Roxas knocks and opens the door, peeking inside. it's a laboratory! he walks in, hoping to find a Vexen here.]

[is wearing a pair of glasses, appears to be quite busy reading.]

The liver plays a major role in metabolism and has a number of functions in the body, including glycogen storage, decomposition of red blood cells, plasma protein synthesis, and detoxification...

[oh, it's not a Vexen. but he still recognises that person. he was sure, however, that he's met this person before...]

Excuse me?

[stops reading and looks up at the visitor.]

Hm?

[right. he has met this one before. or maybe just a parallel kid version of him.]

Are you that kid?

I used to be.

[riiight. Roxas won't try to pretend he understands that. he will, however, edge back towards the door.]

I'm his older self, pulled from the future. Now, would you mind telling me what you wanted?

Nothing. I was just looking around.

[he's grabbing the doorknob behind his back, clearly not trusting someone who attacked him as a kid.]

Nice place. Ehm. Yeah...

If I had any intentions of harming you, I would've done so already. But it would be terribly unwise to do so in this realm as it would do no good and only ignite the wrath of people such as your friends.

[he relaxes, but that's probably more because of the way Ansem talks rather than what he's saying. someone who talks like that and has a lab? he feels right at home!]

Oh. Okay...

[he walks further into the room, taking in his sourroundings.]

...what are you doing?

I am currently reading about the anatomy of the human body.

[continues to read, but doesn't focus too much on it in case Roxas is going to keep talking.]

[that's interesting! he peeks over Ansems shoulder, almost having to stand on his toes to do it.]

[well he checked the unused labs frequently to see if they become occupied- and if so, who or what has taken over them. imagine his surprise when he spies someone who looks a lot like the kid he cut open the other day.]

[looks up at the oddly familiar Vexen.]

I certainly hope this laboratory isn't yours.

[shakes his head.]

What is it you are reading about?

[curious as to why an Ansem would be in a lab reading instead of being all "darkness etc" at people.]

The human body. Most texts about it back in my world are ridiculously inaccurate.

Where is it you come from, then?

The Dark Kingdom where there is no sun and the winter never ends.

[apparently, a sun isn't needed for life in other worlds. figure that out, Vexen.]
