[A boy of about 12 is lying on his stomach, intently sketching something. So engrossed in his drawing, in fact, that he has not realized that he is no longer in his room. There's a finished doodle of something that looks like a large, angry looking squirrel on the left page, but at the moment the boy is hard at work drawing a blonde girl in a vibrant t-shirt.]

[Oh he's good at knowing when little girls are looking over his shoulder. He quickly snaps his notebook shut and turns around.]

May Belle I told you-! [His mouth remains upon as he stares at the blonde who is certainly not his little sister.] ...You're not May Belle.

[Nope, not May Belle, but the nosiness is familiar. He wouldn't be rude to a stranger, but that doesn't mean he's brave enough willing to share his artwork.]

[He's taking in his surroundings for the first time now. Finding himself in fantastic, wonderful places had become a regular custom for Jesse. Whether he admitted it openly or not, imagination was something he had in gobs. But there was nothing particularly fantastic or wonderful about where he was now. It really was...just a dressing room. So why here?]

A dressing room? This is so weird... She'd be able to figure it out...

[He shakes his head, as if it sends the thoughts out his ears.] I'm Jesse, and I guess so.

[You startled him. That notebook shut awfully fast. He also stares for an awful long time once he turns around. Something about this woman reminded him of Ms. Edmund.]

Um, I draw a lot of creatures from...a place I go to.

Well... [He's opening his notebook. There's pictures of Terabithian warriors from the tree-top provinces, a giant troll, hairy vultures, a squoger, and even an attempt to put form to the enigmatic Dark Master. He's careful not to turn to the picture of Leslie.]
