And what, exactly, do you mean by that?

You don't care. That sort of hurts. [ blatantly disappointed but recovers and smiles ]

But it's okay, I don't mind.

... [scowling. he may not feel, but he does an incredibly good job of pretending. he lowers his voice so only the other can hear him.]

Don't tell me you already forgot what I said on that anonymous thing. I was anonymous at the time, sure, but you have to know it was me. Just because I can't feel doesn't mean.. ['.. you're not important.' he may not say it, but it's there in his muted glare.]

[ follows the other's example and speaks quietly, confused and frustrated by the contradiction ]

I don't get this. How can you say you don't feel anything and say you care? It doesn't add up. What am I missing?

[He sighs, then, his eyes half-hooded.]

We're not even supposed to exist, kid. We're nothing. Nobody. Really, I shouldn't even be able to stand here and talk to you .. but I can. Hell, I've died twice and been brought back as many times by whatever cosmic force seems to like me so much. Everything about me is impossible. [shrug.] Some things just can't be explained.

[ struggles to accept it after life in the real world. ultimately he chooses the best route which is to give up trying to understand and go with what he's told ]

I guess not. It's still hard to take and it'll take some getting used to, but it's about you. That makes understanding easier.

[to his credit, he looks only mildly exasperated as he reaches out to drag Sora into his arms, burying his face in the other's hair.]

You'll get it eventually. I may not have a heart, but some things .. some things can make me feel like I have one.

[ feels guilty for annoying the other so often and tries to make up for it by holding him. as well as someone as tall as he is can hold someone as tall as Axel ]

Can I make you feel like you have a heart?

[In any other situation the height difference would make him laugh, but right now he only smiles into the other's hair. He pulls back a little to look the other in the eyes at his question, though, expression unreadable.]

.. could be.

[He swoops in for a kiss before the other can respond - though it's not as hungry or insistent as normal - instead calmer, warmer.]

[ he likes that he can relax into this kiss, going so far as to play with Axel's hair. he responds happily and can't fight smiling ]

[Despite himself he laughs into their kiss when he feels those fingers in his hair. In response he wraps his arms tight around Sora's waist and just .. holds him. When he finally breaks the kiss off again he runs a thumb over Sora's cheekbone, smiling a little.]

This mean you're going to finally stop questioning it and accept this whole thing?

[ eager to show that he now trusts Axel and everything he says, he replies excitedly ]

I promise I accept it.

[Can't help a broad, amused grin, but it's more genuine than his usual smirks.]

Good. I'm glad. .. figuratively speaking.

[Spoke too soon - that smirk is back. But for once he only holds the other, one arm still tight around his waist while the other hand drifts up to tangle in Sora's hair. Burying his face in that hair again, too? You bet.]
