I'll kill you!

[comes a shout from a dark hall. it looks like the lights are out, for whatever reason, though the one at the center of the hall just keeps flickering, and there's an angry shuffle, and another echoing scream, then what sounds like metal clanging against a wall, and a disgruntled cry.

the closer one gets to the actual sound, they may find that it's above them-- actually, he's caught in a person-sized bird cage.]

I'm going to-[his words just carry off into screeching growls, and the metal clashes against the wall again.]

I hope you broke something, too!

[crows down at him, gritting his teeth.]

Jeez, I was just trying to get you out.

[stands unsteadily, making his way back to the ladder. instead of moving it, though, he climbs back up and takes a firm hold of the cage, looking for a way to open it.]

[he's stubborn though, kicking wildly at the bars. there doesn't seem to be.. any sort of hatch at all. what the hell?]

[holds on tightly, despite nearly falling off the ladder again.]

Will you stop that?! I'm trying to get you down!

[well he'll keep looking trying to ignore the movement of the cage.]

No! I don't want you to help me! I'll kill you if you let me out!

Why? I didn't do anything to you!

I don't care what you did to me, you're probably just like every other stupid redheaded bitch! You're a manipulative jerkoff who lets himself be driven by pressure! Go away!

[looks incredibly hurt for a moment, because someone he doesn't even know is saying things like that. but then his expression turns firm and he grips the bars tightly.]

I don't know what happened in your world to make you hate Kairi, but even if we look similar, we're not the same. I never did whatever she did.

I don't care!

[if Kai doesn't move his hands fast, he's going to have the heel of a shoe smashing against his fingers.]

[brings his hands away, glaring.]

So what, you're going to hate every Kai and Kairi around because of one person? You're the jerkoff!

You think I care? You're an ugly asshole and an idiot!

And yet I'm trying to get you out anyways.

[tries to ignore the insults, going back to looking for a latch or something.]

Which makes you even more stupid, because as soon as you let me out, I'll kill you.

So go ahead, I dare you.

Why?

[stands back a bit, looking at him in an odd cross of confusion and sadness.]

Does it matter? You're 'not her' and you'll 'never be her' so who cares what she did, right?

Well if you're going to kill me for getting you out of this thing, I'd kind of like to know why.

[how the heck did he even get in there if there's no visible way out?]

[the room has its ways, and he'd like to know why he can't remember the past day.]

Too bad.

Guess it is.

[climbs a little higher, the ladder wobbling a bit as he tries to see where the cage connects to the ceiling.]

[just flops back, watching.]

Did you just wake up in here?

[tugs experimentally on a couple of the bars.]

Unfortunately.

[watches dully.]

...hold on, there's probably something in the lab that'll melt these.

[climbs down, taking a moment once he's on the floor to rub at the bruise forming on his arm, then dashes off again to the lab.]

[EXASPERATED SIGH GOES HERE. he's a drama queen.]

[returns with a vial of something ~~someone's going to have to replace that table in the lab he tested it on~~ and carefully climbs back up the ladder.]

So, are you going to kill me when I let you out? I mean, I'll probably let you out either way.

I'll think about it.

[just watches for now.]
