[the main part of the dressing room has been cleared out. what appears to be a glowing orb that acts light a Disco ball floats in mid air, and there's a random skeleton disc jockey already.

there are also food tables around, and because of the variety of monsters people have transformed into, there's normal food and weird food.]

[stops, looking over at her in confusion.]

[stops laughing, carrying the basket over to a chair.]

You make a good puppy.

[...starts wagging again, because he's happy he made Riku happy. :/ wanders on over to her.]

[would laugh if she knew. sets the basket on a chair, keeping her hand on top of it so the cupcake doesn't... idk, jump out, and tugs on one of her pigtails with the other.]

...d'you think it's still moving?

[peers at the basket closely, folded dog ears twitching forwards.]

Dunno. Want me to open it?

[...kind of wants to touch one of those ears.]

[probably wouldn't mind.]

[cannot bring herself to do that. opens the basket instead, peering inside.]

[jumping cupcake attack to the face, y/n.]

[y. which would make her scream and stumble back.]

[D: pounces on the cupcake as soon as it falls away from Riku, squishing it and making sure the legs on it stop twitching, then looks back over at her worriedly.]

Are you okay?!

[has her hands on her face, trying to rub off anything she might have gotten on it which probably included icing because a living cupcake just attacked her face and she screamed. ...screaming was just as bad to think about. looks at Kai between her fingers, eyes narrowed, though not at him.]

M'fine.

[well he thinks he's the reason for the eye-narrowing, and his ears and tail both droop a little, but he's glad she's okay.]

Good.

What're you makin' that face for?

[drops her hands, looking only mildly annoyed as she walks over.]

And can I step on it?

Y'look mad.

[can you tell he's still worried about the whole... being friends thing? he doesn't want to make her mad, since he thinks if he does, she'll stop being friends with him. backs away from the squished cupcake so she can step on it.]

[poor Kai. unfortunately, Riku is eight years old and doesn't really get that. she stomps on the cupcake, ruby slippers and all, then looks at him.]

M'not mad. It jumped at my face. We'll get you a better one.

[there's a small wag when she says she's not mad, because he believes her.]

It's okay.

[still finds the wagging funny. looks over to the food table.]

C'mon. And make sure it doesn't have legs.

'kay.

[will follow her like the puppy he apparently is.]

[wouldn't mind having a puppy. a Kai-puppy is fine too. oh look, food. steals half a sandwich as she heads to the cupcakes.]

[well for the party, you get a Kai-puppy. trots after her, eying the sandwiches for a moment before deciding against it.]

[hooray! she stuffs part of the sandwich in her mouth, holding it with her teeth and reaching for a cupcake, checking for legs or anything that shouldn't be there.]

I hafta wait 'til my costume's gone b'fore I can have any chocolate.

[which would be why he's not chowing down on the stuff right now.]

'cause I had a chocolate bar an' I got sick.

[looks at him, then seems to get an 'oh right' look on her face.]

'Cause you're a puppy. Did you throw up?
