Well! I didn't think there were any of you left. This is encouraging news. Maybe I won't be woken up in the night by a Keyblade to the gut.

I don't even know what these "Keyblades" are that everyone talks about, let alone how to use one.

I could explain, if you want. It's a long story, but I've got the time if you do.

Since no one else's offered. Some creepy guy was telling me about heartloss earlier, but.

[ knows he's probably getting it wrong, but that was so weird. ]

... [chuckles.] "Heartloss." Not quite right, yet oddly apt for someone like me.

Where the rest of us come from, a Keyblade is an all-important weapon, capable of saving the universe and all that great stuff. My Roxas had two of them because he was the Nobody of the Keyblade Master .. Sora.

This might get a little weird for you, but bear with me. See, where I come from, you and Sora are each one half of the same person. You're the body and soul, he's the heart. Sora got "killed," and that split the two of you apart, creating you, the Nobody - a being with no heart. Sora was turned into a Heartless. Heartless are made from the darkness in people's hearts. Nasty little things. They devour anyone else they come in contact with.

You had the Keyblade because Sora did, basically. You and I were in this thing called Organization XIII together, but you, being you, defected in search of answers you wanted, and that was that, really.

[ ... absorbing this information bit by bit. most of it makes sense, except for-- ]

But how can you live without a heart? That shouldn't be physically possible.

[ poor Roxas, this one always looks at things so literally. ]

Should be, but we're not physically possible beings. We shouldn't exist. That's why we're called Nobodies. A Nobody is made mostly of darkness. Off one of us and we don't just die - we kind of dissolve into darkness. We have no emotions at all, just memories of what it was like to have them and very good poker faces.

[ in the absence of anything else to contribute, just scrunches up his face, giving Axel this patented "I don't get it but I'm trying to" look. ]

Everything I do is just an act, kid. [smiling, faintly.] A very good act. Sometimes the memories get strong enough that it's almost as good as feeling, but the keyword there is "almost."

Now I can see why a lot of people here react the way they do.

Because they have no hearts? Heh, don't give all of them that excuse. From what I can gather, the ratio of those without hearts to those with is about equal.

But hey. I will say it is hard to care about the consequences of your actions when you can't actually care at all.

[ laughs. ]

That, or they're expecting me to pop out these Keyblades on them. ... which I don't understand, either, since it's not like a key can cut anything.

[chuckles at that.]

You'd be surprised, kid. Those keys can cut through pretty much anything. Hence the "blade" part of the "Keyblade" name. Ask one of the other Soras or Roxae to show you; I bet any of the Soras would be happy to show off.

[ hang on, he's picturing his Sora lugging one of those around, and ... ]
