[he flips it closed, finally taking his eyes off the bottle and--]

[he knows that voice anywhere. it's deeper, more mature than the mouse, and he turns his head from where he was walking the opposite way.]

[his heart's soaring-- but it's not the painful kind of soar that sends him straight to the emergency room. it's the kind he felt a couple of weeks ago. the kind he'll probably never admit. he claps a hand over his chest and fights back a bright smile with a shy one.]
