[bump bump crash.

there's a pile of books scattered across the floor, and it looks like the ladder usually used to get books from high-up places just broke. this one's just motionless, on the floor.]

[sighs quietly and picks him up, moving to one of the big comfy chairs and setting him down in it. her hand brushes against his forehead gently, a frown tugging at her lips. she hates seeing Soras in trouble or injured.]

[after a few moments, his eyes flutter open, and he's blearily rubbing at them.]

[he was only casually reading a book in the hall, legs crossed and-- oh, he's out of that wheelchair now, but he hasn't been feeling the best in exchange for all that pain gone. when he hears the crash his heart starts, and he's peeking in.

when he sees who's laying there, it kind of feels like his entire chest just caved in. his feet are going faster than his mouth, and soon he's crouching by Sora's side.]

[he's not exactly jumping up and laughing at his fall, eyes closed and one book corner under his head. ow, hard fall.]

[hastily scoops him up into his lap, keeping his head steady as he shakes him just a little.]

Sora.. Sora, wake up.

[silence, for quite a few worrying moments--then a quiet groan.]

[pets his hair, sighing quietly, shakily. for one split second, i thought you were--]

[he looks confused, as if he doesn't understand him for a minute--but a few seconds after, his toes are wiggling.]

[this one was just on his way to return an outdated textbook - because what better way to entertain yourself than with wrong information - when he heard the clatter from the hallway. he blinks and steps tentatively into the library. that old text slips from under his arm at the sight, and he hurries towards Sora, dropping down to his knees at the brunet's side.]

[he's silent and unconscious, the broken rung of the latter lying beside his feet.]

[murmuring quickly under his breath, he's almost afraid to touch Sora, worried that he might just make things worse but..]

[he reaches out anyway to push his hair out of his friends eyes, carefully patting his cheek.]

[still out cold. at least, it seems like, for a few minutes. his shoulders move slightly.]

[the small movement is slight reassuring but still a little unsettling, because for all Riku knows, the damage - if there is any - could be far worse than anything he wants to even think about. he pushes some more hair out of Sora's face and shifts his weight so he's sitting on his own heels.]

H-hey...if you can hear me, I want you to squeeze my hand.

[reaches down and carefully presses his hand into Sora's.]

[there's silence, and it takes a fair amount of time before he grasps Riku's hand, giving it a squeeze. he's trying to wiggle, but the pain in his head is pounding.]

[enjoying a rare trip to the library, Roxas shoved into the far recesses of his mind and gloriously silent for once. turns a corner, and oh...wow, is that a Sora on the floor?]

[hurries over, and kneels beside him.]

Hey, are you okay?

[gently touches his shoulder, leaning down to speak by his ear.]

Sora.

[he's not responding, head flopping a little to the side.]

[sdigmsd inward flail! and, oh, this looks like his Sora, too. have some nervous tears as he gently picks his head up, looking for a wound.]

C'mon, Sora. Open your eyes for me, will you?
