I'm glad he's at home. He's weighed down with a lot of things.

I wouldn't be surprised if most of those things had to do with you. But has it ever crossed your mind that... if you are trapped here long enough, he may just give up hope and move on?

[tenses visibly, chews on lip before trying to speak--his voice shakes.]

I... he wouldn't--but I... I wouldn't care if he did, he has... every right to be happy...

... But what of yourself? If you sacrifice your own happiness for his sake, what would you do then?

I've been unhappy most of my life, I guess it wouldn't be that different to go back to it.

I would think it's quite obvious that he told you of our past. We had both been lonely before, and once the relationship fell apart, we couldn't stand being lonely again. He befriended your parents to help ease that loneliness, but even witnessing their deaths put him back in that pit of despair again.

Then he saw you again, looking attractive and mature. For all you know, he was simply replacing that hole that was left behind. That emptiness.

It was never my intention to do that to him, and I certainly don't have the intention of doing it again. And upon hearing this, I'm sure you're feeling that same emptiness inside? If Xemnas never comes, or if you never return again, you will have to live with that hole. If even a vampire has trouble doing it, what makes you think you can live with it alone?

[flashes of memories. he couldn't deal with his parent's death for years after they died. Xemnas almost exceeded how special they were to him. he starts to shake a little, raising a hand towards his heart and hitting the wall behind him with his back. doesn't look at him, curling his free hand into a fist.]

[ stays silent for a moment, watching him. finally speaks again, voice low in volume. almost... comforting sounding. ]

... You feel it, don't you? It isn't as simple as it sounds, Riku. It's your choice now. Either deal with the pain for who knows how long... or let someone take care of it... take care of you. I can help you.

[ takes a step towards him, holding a hand out a little. ]

... Pain, or feeling whole again.

[ drops the hand, but stands his ground. ]

[gives a quiet gasp, looking over at him. not quite tearing, just slightly. stares at his hand, before slowly reaching for it--suddenly jerks away and grits his teeth.]

N... no. You'll hurt me, just like you hurt Xemnas. I won't let myself become... hurt, because I'll just hurt those around me by making careless decisions.

Why would I make the same mistake again? ... Yes, I'm admitting I made a mistake, but I know better now. After all, I have no fear of any secrets I'm hiding because you know them all.

Back then, I was foolish and was only trying to get my revenge on Xemnas. I didn't want him to know what he knew about me. Obviously, my attempts at revenge failed. I see no point in continuing with it now.

[ pauses, then brushes a few fingers over his cheek, nails ever-so gently scraping against his skin. ]

I offer as a way to ask forgiveness, Riku.

[swallows hard, looks over at him slowly. seems to be thinking...]

... [shifts feet, runs a hand through his hair. sighs softly, speaks very quietly, in a hushed tone.]

... okay, okay. So I can't suffer the pain by myself.

... but I still don't know.

Maybe... just... for a while. To... test things.

[ smirks a little and reaches up to twirl just a little of Riku's hair between his fingers. ]

Fair enough.

[he looks up, just after Saïx smirks. forces a small smile, tilting his head away.]

Ah... yeah.

[ hah, smart move, Riku. actually has the opportunity to smell him now, with his neck all exposed and such. leans closer a little, taking in the smell of his blood. ]

I do hate to sound rude, but... I believe I've found another reason as to why Xemnas was drawn to you.

[whoops. really doesn't have that much experience shielding self from vampires. didn't have to with Xemnas. pauses, slowly looking back at him, blinking once. voice comes out a little shaky.]

... ah... what?

[ chuckles and smirks a bit. ]

Your blood. It smells delicious.

[sucks in a quick breath and quickly darts out a hand, shoving Saïx away.]

I'm not surprised that came out of your mouth.

[ refrains from snarling at him. grabs his shirt and pulls him towards him. grips his chin with a hand, forcing Riku to look up and brings his face close, a few inches apart maybe. ]

And you really shouldn't be. Could you imagine how difficult it must have been for Xemnas to not even say anything about it? ... You just happen to be lucky I'm not acting upon my urges to feed.

However... there will come times when I will need to. I certainly hope you don't expect me to feed off of someone around here. For all I know, their blood may be tainted with something disgusting and foul. I know where yours has been.

[--swallows hard, scowling at him and baring white teeth. grabs his hands, trying to wrench them away.]

--he doesn't care about that. He cares about me. Maybe it's a plus for Rikku, because she drank my blood, but Xemnas never did.

[clenches jaw. but he almost did... shoves him off of him, some of his shirt being torn.]

You can feed off of your other self or something.

[ nostrils flare a little when he smells the blood he drew after accidentally ripping his shirt. ]

Hah, Riku. It's too perfect... I didn't even have to bite.

[ quickly leans forward and laps a little at the blood, smirking a bit at the taste before sucking it away in small amounts. ]

[--winces quickly, trying to draw shirt back. can't, suddenly, as he's pinned. struggles, causing more blood to drip down his chest.]

St-stop! Get away!

[ continues only for a moment longer, just enough to keep him full for at least another week, then pulls away, chancing one last lick before stepping back. runs a finger down Riku's face, lifting his chin again. ]

I must thank you, Riku. It was too easy, though.

[ leans in close again and whispers. ]

Next time, I expect a struggle.

[ kisses him chastely. ]

[shaking, glares at him with tears in his eyes.]

[narrows eyes, tries to free one of his legs.]

[--stays still, shocked. does not like the taste of his own blood on his own lips.]

You're stronger than that, Riku. I know you are.

[ smirks and walks away. ]

[stares at the ground, shaking before snapping straight, running forwards and kicking him in his back.]

[ is pushed forward by the force of the kick, but quickly whips around and pushes Riku back up against the wall, snarling at him. ]

If you know what's good for you, you wouldn't do that again.

[he blinks innocently, speaks with sweetness dripping from his voice.]

But I thought you wanted a struggle, Saïx.

[ glares at him for a moment, then presses him even more against the wall. ]

I could easily kill you right now. I do hope you realize that. Or I could even make you suffer an eternity of being forced to drink the blood of others. Or you can choose to stay alive without consequence. It's your choice.

[gives a quiet squeak of air when he's pressed more, looking a little distressed.]

This-isn't-without-consequence...

[grits teeth.]

[ pauses, then smirks widely. ]

Hm, I think you can beg better than that...

[eyes go wide, stares at him. starts to struggle--fiercer.]

[ pushes a little more against him, still smirking. ]

[--gasps, grits his teeth. tries to breathe differently, as it's starting to affect his intake. tries to shove him away.]

[--shit. left breathless, stares, wheels turning in his head. to sacrifice dignity or not.]

[ does possibly the most random thing he could do at this time. kisses him, gently scraping his teeth against Riku's bottom lip. ]

[... and he tenses. duh, of course he would. but... can't... move. tries to move head back, but it's trapped by a wall. try to move it to the side, and his teeth would dig more into his lip. just barely tips head down, whispering softly.]

[ pulls away just a little, scoffs, then walks away. ]

[slides down onto the floor, shudders. draws his legs to his chest, and pretty much stays that way, closed up in a ball.]

I wouldn't necessarily call his absence a shame.
