sleepless
[he's sitting at the kitchen table, looking absolutely exhausted. there's a blanket thrown over his shoulders, probably because he's topless, and a large mug of coffee resting on the table between shaking hands. his head is slightly bowed, mussed hair falling into his face, dark circles under his eyes. the collar around his neck and cuffs around his wrists haven't withered at all; still as fresh and green and strong as they had been when he first showed up here, despite the lack of their Master's care.]

Rather uncomfortable, aren't they? [gestures to the vines]
no subject
Nothing I can do about them.
no subject
Surely you jest. Those vines can't me more than a half-inch in diameter. A butter knife could cut through.
no subject
Go ahead and try.
no subject
Judging by your expression, it wouldn't be worth my time.

[drops his arms again.]
They're stronger than they appear. Added to that is the fact that whenever they're touched by something other than myself, be it someone's hand or a blade, they grow thorns. Along the inside.
no subject
Ah. Have you tried using another method? Besides a blade, that is.
[takes a sip of coffee] A colleague of mine--botanist, name of Julie Langford--created an incredibly powerful weed-killer during her time with the military. Eventually used it as a form of biological weapon. I don't doubt something similar could clear up this little...inconvenience.

Are you a Vexen?
no subject
...I am, yes.
no subject
Younger than I expected to see one of you.
no subject
[sounds vaguely snarky, but mostly exhausted.]
no subject
[not that she really cares.]

*yes he always points out the obvious*

Once the cuffs decided I wasn't taking the shears to them, yes.
[which would explain the somewhat hidden, half-healed wounds covering his wrists.]
no subject
Are you... well, you really look like shit.
no subject
[sneers at him briefly before letting the expression drop. he's too tired to be snarky and rude.]
I haven't slept.

If only. No, it has nothing to do with others.
