[he'd promised to read at least a few books while he was here, so he'd grabbed whatever he could reach in the library and sat down in the corner, using a bored looking chocobo as a backrest.]

[of course, quantum physics is both confusing and boring, so he's fallen asleep nestled up against feathers, while Bawk leans over every minute or so to rip out a page with its beak. mmmm, science.]

[a-actually quiets down, but Bawk is still not giving up that book. apparently the ways of the universe are just too delicious.]

[Sora yawns and shifts, still off somewhere in dreamland.]

Alright, fine. But if you get in trouble for eating a book, and someone locks you in a room for being bad, it's your own fault.

[shoots Bawk a stern look before quickly heading off to find greens for the obviously hungry bird.]

[Bawk will be workin' on the index while Kai's gone, nudging at its master's forehead with its beak every so often.]

[returns a short while later with a decent armful of greens.]

Alright you, give up the book and you can have these.

[Bawk perks up considerably at the sight of greens, although it won't move with its master still using it as his pillow. so it's nudging at Sora a bit more aggressively.]

Don't wake him, I'll come over there.

[does so, gently putting the greens on the ground within reach.]

[the chocobo is eating the greens. quantum physics needs saving from sharp beaks and chocobo spit!]

[quickly and quietly moves any and all books far out of Bawk's reach.]

[it looks up, tilting its head curiously as it watches Kai. luckily, greens are a bit more interesting than learnings.]

[Sora's chosen a great time to slip and fwump on the floor.]

[blinks rapidly in an attempt to break out of his freshly awakened haze. once he's registered that there's someone else other than Bawk present, he jumps to his feet and runs a hand through his hair.]

Uh. Hi!

Hey. Your friend there decided to make a meal of science.

[holds up the eaten text with an amused smile.]

You should be more careful where you fall asleep.

[his eyes widen, and he turns around to stare at his chocobo.]

Bawk!

[Bawk preens itself, but not before flashing Sora a completely innocent look.]

[sighs.] I promised Ri I'd read a lot, and he'd teach me to swordfight.

Well, maybe try starting on something that'll keep your attention more. Or think of weird or stupid things to relate what you're learning about to.

Well I remember learning about gravity and stuff in science was really boring, until I decided to try and find out how it is that that hair stays up

[gestures to Sora's hair.]

Never did figure it out. And for math it was things like... trying to figure how fast you could roll down hills at different angles.

You can use math to figure out how fast you roll down hills? Really?

Working with angles is like... if you imagine the slope as a hill, then you can do math to find out how fast you go.

[frowns a little, scratching his cheek in thought.]

I don't know how good a teacher I'd be, but I'm sure I could give Ri some ideas so he can make it more interesting for you.
